Cow born with two extra feet on its neck

A farmer was surprised to see a cow born with two extra legs hanging from the side of its neck. 59-year-old Gerald Skalsky of Beulah, North Dakota, was at an auction when his wife called him to report the strange looking newborn calf. She told him to come to the farm to look at the baby cow himself. Skalsky, who has been a farmer for many years, rushed to his farm and saw that the calf had an extra set of legs on its neck. Skalsky said that he never encountered a cow with extra limbs.
Skalsky loved working on his farm and followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Several vets said that the calf probably suffers from polydactyly or polymelia, which are genetic defects. All medical experts who were consulted said that the condition isn’t fatal. Skalsky said that he plans to remove the extra limbs through surgery so they do not get caught up in a fence. Skalsky plans to keep the cow that gave birth to the deformed calf as it appears to be a good mother to its firstborn.
