Woman bites off tongue of man who tried to rape her

A man broke into a woman's home early on Sunday and tried to rape her but she fought back and bit off her assailant's tongue. The 38-year-old woman had been asleep at her home in Petsana, near Reitz in the Free State, South Africa when a man entered her house then tried to overpower her with a knife so he could have his way with her. But she fought him off then grabbed his tongue with her teeth and bit it so hard that a piece of it came off. He ran away then, but forensic evidence collected from the scene led police to the 23-year-old victim who was receiving treatment in a hospital in Bethlehem, South Africa.
Police spokesman, Zweli Mohobeleli, told Daily Sun: “The man attacked her with a knife but she fought back and grabbed his tongue with her teeth, biting so hard that a piece of his tongue came off. The man ran away, leaving the piece of his tongue behind.
“Cops arrested him after recognising his clothes that had been described by the victim. We collected forensic evidence from the clothes and handed the piece of tongue to the family of the suspect. He will appear in the Reitz Magistrates Court soon."
