The details, which sparked a public outcry, were contained in a report prepared by Health ministry officials in the county and was tabled in the assembly before the House went on recess last Thursday.

8-year old boy ends his life after getting tired of his parents beating him

An eight-year-old boy jumped from a ninth-floor apartment to end his life after enduring years of domestic violence from his parents, police say.  It is alleged the boy, named only as Anton, was regularly beaten by his parents and he became overwhelmed.  The youngster was found dead on the road last month in what police say was a suicide. His parents had shouted at him that day for damaging clothes, reports claim.

Man.City star Bernardo Silva charged by FA with improper conduct for sending racially insensitive tweet to team-mate Benjamin Mendy

Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva has been charged by the FA with improper conduct after sending a racially insensitive tweet to his team-mate Benjamin Mendy.  Last month, the Portuguese footballer compared Mendy to the mascot of Spanish confectionery brand Conguitos before deleting the Twitter post 45 minutes later after he was condemned by many.
 A statement from the governing body on Wednesday morning read: 'Bernardo Silva has been charged with misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to a social media post on September 22, 2019.

Andy Ruiz Jnr has told Anthony Joshua to quickly embark on a break from boxing if he loses to him for the second time.  Back in June, Joshua lost his IBF, WBA and WBO titles in a shock defeat to Ruiz Jr back at Madison Square Garden. The Mexican boxer defeated Joshua in the seventh-round.  With the pair getting ready to have a huge rematch that will take place in Saudi Arabia in December, Andy Ruiz Jnr has advised Joshua to go on a quick break if he fails to regain his world titles.

Saudi to offer first-ever international tourist visas

Saudi Arabia will open its doors to international tourists for the first time under a new visa regime to be announced Friday evening, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage said.
The move is part of the kingdom’s efforts to boost tourism. Riyadh aims to increase international and domestic visits to 100 million a year by 2030. “Opening Saudi Arabia to international tourists is a historic moment for our country,” Ahmad Al-Khateeb, Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, said in a media release on Friday.
Saudi Arabia has long been one of the hardest countries for tourists to enter, with visas only granted for short-term business trips, religious pilgrimage, or for travelers with family in the country.

Homeless Opera singer offered a major recording contract

Emily Zamourka, the homeless Opera singer who became an Internet sensation after the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) shared a video of her singing Puccini at the Los Angeles metro last week, has been offered a recording contract by Grammy-nominated music producer Joel Diamond.
 With hope of creating a "huge classical/EDM crossover hit record for the subway soprano", the recording contract is for an initial record entitled "Paradise" which will be released on Diamond's label, Silver Blue Records.
 Though it is still not clear if the 52-year-old opera singer will agree to the deal, TMZ sources revealed that she also secured a gig on Saturday night at the Italian heritage event in L.A.
 Over $48k has also been raised in a GoFundMe campaign to assist Emily in buying a violin which was destroyed by a vandal 2 years ago.

Leicester City owner 'declines' crash victim's family claim

Leicester City's owners say they are "declining" to pay compensation to the family of a woman who died in the helicopter crash outside the stadium. Nusara Suknamai was on board when it crashed near the King Power stadium in October 2018, along with the club's owner, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
Ms Nusara's family is suing the estate of Mr Vichai for 300 million baht ($9.8m; £7.9m) in damages.
King Power, the owner of the club, said it was "declining" the claim.

World's oldest barber dies at 108 years old

The oldest barber in the world, Anthony Mancinelli of New York, died on September 19 at 108 years old, after 96 years of cutting hair. The upstate resident never retired, and found passion in his work, his son, Robert, told CNN. Mancinelli died from jaw cancer complications.
Mancinelli, who made it into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2018 for being the oldest practicing barber, immigrated to the United States at 8 years old, according to Guinness World Records.

Deontay Wilder: WBC champion will fight Luis Ortiz in November

WBC champion Deontay Wilder will defend his world heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz in Las Vegas on 23 November, promoters announced on Saturday. The rematch follows Wilder's knockout win over the Cuban in New York in 2018.
American Wilder, 33, boasts a career record of 41 wins and one draw, and has held the WBC title since 2015. After beating Ortiz, he drew with Tyson Fury in December before knocking out compatriot Dominic Breazeale in May.

Judge denies R. Kelly’s request for release with singer likely to remain in jail until his 2020 trial Singer R. Kelly is likely going to remain in jail until 2020.

A Brooklyn judge on Wednesday, October 2, denied the singer’s request to be released from jail while awaiting trial.  According to TMZ, prosecutors say Kelly is definitely a flight risk if he gets out of jail while his criminal case is pending.  But his lawyers argued that even if Kelly was out of jail he does not have the funds to leave the country. New legal documents obtained by TMZ show that prosecutors believe the singer is still deemed a flight risk following his initial plans  to travel to Dubai with his two girlfriends earlier this year after he was released on bail in Illinois.

Uganda bans wearing of Bobi Wine's signature red beret in the country

Authorities in Uganda have declared red berets and tunic as official military uniform, essentially banning the uniform of opposition leader Bobi Wine and his supporters.  This was announced on Monday, September 30, in a gazette notice outlining what constitutes military clothing.
 “The dress code for the UPDF (Uganda People´s Defence Forces) has been gazetted. The action was endorsed by the top organs of the army which also commended the dress committee for concluding the task assigned to it years back,” army spokesman Richard Karemire said in a statement.

#Xenophobia: South African returnee caught in armed robbery

A South African returnee has been arrested by the police in Enugu State, Nigeria for alleged involvement in an armed robbery. The suspect, Kingsley Okonkwo, from Agbogugu, Awgu LGA, Enugu State, was among 15 suspects paraded at the headquarters of the State Police Command on Tuesday. Briefing journalists on the latest breakthrough of the command, the State Commissioner of Police, an Ahmad Abdur-Rahman said they arrested 15 suspected criminals and made some recoveries.

FIFA orders Cardiff City to pay £5.3m of Emiliano Sala's £15m transfer fee to Nantes after striker's tragic death

World football governing body FIFA, has ruled that £5.3m of Emiliano Sala's £15m transfer fee must be paid by Cardiff City to French side Nantes after the striker died in a plane crash over the English Channel earlier this year.  The Argentine striker and pilot David Ibbotson were both traveling from Nantes towards Cardiff on January 21 when their light aircraft crashed, two days after the Welsh club concluded all the contractual paperwork for their record 17m euro (£15m) signing, according to FIFA.

Spanish Court dismisses fraud case against Lionel Messi

Spain's National Court on Monday, September 30, announced it had dismissed a complaint against Barcelona's Lionel Messi filed by a former employee of the Argentine footballer's foundation, who had accused him of fraud, embezzlement and money laundering.  Dismissing the case, the judge wrote that the complaint "was based on an account put together from stories in the press, without bringing even a single element that was personally and directly known" by the plaintiff.

19 pregnant girls rescued from Lagos baby factory

The Police in Lagos State, Nigeria have uncovered a baby factory and rescued 19 pregnant girls, with two suspects arrested. The baby factory was uncovered at Ikotun area of Lagos. Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana in a statement said acting on the strength of information from a reliable source, detectives from Ishiri Osun Police Station led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Chike Ibe stormed a building at No 14 Adisa Street Ayanwale area of Ikotun Lagos, suspected to be used for child trafficking.

World Athletics Championships: Ruth Chepngetich wins women's marathon as heat takes toll

Kenya's Ruth Chepngetich won the women's marathon at the World Championships as 28 of the 68 starters withdrew in gruelling conditions in Doha. In a race that started at midnight local time, Briton Charlotte Purdue was among the athletes to pull out in temperatures of 32C and with humidity reaching over 70%.
Organisers decided to go ahead with the event in its scheduled slot despite fears that the conditions might not be conducive for marathon running.
Linet Chebet of Uganda was taken away in an ambulance after failing to complete the distance, while Italy's Sara Dossena, another who did not finish, was seen in a wheelchair.

German court rules that 'Hangover' is an 'illness'

A German court has ruled that 'hangovers' is an 'illness'. The Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt made the decision in a case against an unnamed company that sold "anti-hangover" products.  The firm was taken to court in Frankfurt after being accused of making illegal health claims about its anti-hangover shots and drinks powders. In its ruling, the court said illnesses included even small or temporary changes to the body's normal state. Food products, including drinks, cannot be marketed as being able to prevent or treat illnesses, it added. 
 "Information about a food product cannot ascribe any properties for preventing, treating or healing a human illness or give the impression of such a property. By an illness, one should understand even small or temporary disruptions to the normal state or normal activity of the body"  the superior regional court's ruling said.
 The ruling comes just days after the annual Oktoberfest beer festival kicked off in Munich.

World Athletics Championships: Joao Vieira, 43, becomes oldest medalist

Portugal's Joao Vieira defied "hell" in the 50km walk in Doha to become the oldest person to win a medal in World Championship history. The 43-year-old took silver behind Japan's Yusuke Suzuki as the heat continued to hamper athletes.
"For me, it was hell - very, very hot," Vieira said. "How did I cope? Just a lot of ice and cold water."
On Friday, 28 runners withdrew from the women's marathon because of 32C temperatures despite a midnight start.
