TikTok's biggest star, 16-year-old Charli D'Amelio is raking in money, and she's using some of it to invest in a banking app for teens. D'Amelio — who earns an estimated $4 million a year from TikTok, according to Forbes — invested in teen banking app Step as part of its Series B funding round, a Step spokesperson told CNN Business.
Step is a mobile app that provides teens with an FDIC-insured bank account and a Visa card with no fees, according to the company. It allows parents to set guidelines for their children's spending, and users can send and receive money. The company says there is no minimum balance.

FIFA approve maternity leave for female players

 

FIFA approved a new measure on Friday that will change women's football forever, with mothers now able to have their salary guaranteed for 14 weeks while also having medical support.
Until now, many female players had had to cut their careers short in order to tend to their children, but now they will have more support from FIFA.
"If we are serious about boosting the women's game, we have to look at all these aspects," FIFA president Gianni Infantino told reporters.
"Female players need to have stability in their careers and if they take maternity leave, they should not have to worry about when they are ready to play again."

Diego Armando Maradona’s manager and friend said the legend ‘was tired and let himself die’ while the family around him was ‘tearing each other’s hair out.’
The Napoli and Argentina icon died on Wednesday at the age of 60 after numerous health problems and addictions that ravaged his life and career.
“There’s an investigation into Diego’s death and people now point the finger at what could’ve been done, but that’s a concept that should be extended to his entire life,” manager Stefano Ceci told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Burna Boy has been announced the winner of the Edison Award -- an award given to people to acknowledge their contribution and innovation. The win makes Burna Boy the first Nigerian artist to win the Edison award and the third African. Only Youssou N'Dour and Angélique Kidjo ever won.
Youssou won in 1994, while Angélique Kidjo won in 2018, and two years after Nigeria's Burna Boy wins too.

Group of children aged 13-16 arrested ‘after gang raping woman in park’

 

Four boys aged 13-16 have been arrested after allegedly raping a 21-year-old woman in High Hazels Park. The attack took place in Darnall, Sheffield on November 23, according to South Yorkshire Police.
 The force confirmed in a statement: "Today, December 2, officers executed two warrants in the Darnall area as part of their enquiries."
 "Four boys aged 13, 14, 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in custody at this time."

Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani tests positive for Coronavirus

 

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has tested positive for Covid-19 and is being treated in hospital. The president wrote in a tweet: "Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!"
Mr Giuliani, who has led the Trump campaign's legal challenges to the election results, is the latest person close to the president to be infected.
The president and his team have been criticised for shunning safety guidance. Mr Trump was ill in October.
Mr Giuliani, 76, was admitted to the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC on Sunday, according to US media reports.
In a tweet, the former New York mayor thanked well-wishers for their messages, and said he was "recovering quickly".

US leader, Donald Trump has raised more than $170 million since Election Day from his supporters by pushing allegations that the election he lost to Joe Biden was rigged, according to a new report by the Washington Post.
According to the report, the huge funds flowed into Trump's joint fundraising committee in less than four weeks after his campaign made fundraising solicitations to his supporters, urging them to donate to an "Election Defense Fund" as the President kept tweeting about a stolen election.
The report also adds that a large share of the funds have ended the Trump campaign's debt and will help fund the President's future political operation as he has no plans to retire politically yet, with a 2024 White Houss sting operation being envisioned.

A miracle baby known as Molly Everette Gibson is now technically the world's oldest baby, as she was born using an embryo frozen in October 1992, less than two years after her mother Tina was born in April 1991. Thanks to the wonders of science, Molly Everette Gibson now nicknamed 'Miracle Molly' broke the previous record held by her sister, Emma Wren (pictured below) who spent 24 years as an embryo on ice before she was born in November 2017.
Both full genetic embryos were frozen together and transferred to mum Tina's uterus three years apart.

WWE legend and Royal Rumble creator, Pat Patterson has died at the age of 79. The Canadian–American wrestler born Pierre Clermont, had long been battling cancer before his death. He was known as WWE’s first gay superstar. 

“WWE is saddened to learn that Pat Patterson has passed away at the age of 79,” WWE said in a statement.
 “A true trailblazer of the industry, Patterson was linked to many ‘firsts’ in sports-entertainment throughout his storied career, including the first-ever Intercontinental Title reign and the creation of the Royal Rumble Match.”

Former Morocco international, Mohamed Abarhoun has tragically died from stomach cancer at the age of 31. The defender had been diagnosed in February while playing for Turkish top-flight side Caykur Rizespor.
 In a statement, the club said: 'We have learned with sadness the news of the death of our former football player Mohamed Abarhoun, who has been receiving treatment for a while.
 "We wish Allah's mercy to Mohamed Abarhoun, who passed away, and our condolences to his family, relatives and community."

South Korea confirms second highly pathogenic bird flu case

 

South Korea on Wednesday confirmed the second case of bird flu this year from a local poultry farm, sparking further concerns over possible nationwide transmission of the disease. A highly pathogenic H5N8 strain of avian influenza (AI) was confirmed from an egg farm in Sangju, around 270 km southeast of Seoul, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
 Local authorities said they are currently culling 188,000 chickens being raised at the farm, along with 120,000 quails.
 South Korea plans to further slaughter 251,000 chickens within a 3-kilometer radius of the infected farm as well.

Japan to give free COVID-19 vaccine to all residents

 

The Japanese Government has confirmed that all of its residents will get free coronavirus vaccines under a bill passed on Wednesday, December 2, as the nation battles record numbers of daily cases.
 The bill, which says the government will cover all vaccine costs for Japan's 126 million residents, was approved by the upper house of parliament, having cleared the powerful lower house.
 According to reports, Japan has secured Covid-19 vaccines for 60 million people from pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, and for a further 25 million people from biotech firm Moderna.

 Barcelona will have to pay a €3,000 fine, after captain Lionel Messi paid tribute to Diego Maradona, by celebrating in a Newell’s Old Boys shirt on Sunday, SportsMail reports. Messi celebrated his goal against Osasuna, by taking off Barcelona’s blue-and-burgundy strip to reveal the red-and-black of Newell’s. Maradona, who passed away last week at the age of 60, played for Newell’s at the end of his glittering career.
Messi also wore the same shirt at the start of his career, making it a fitting tribute.
But the emotional tribute was against the rules of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, who are now poised to fine Barca for Messi’s celebration.

The Norwegian striker,  recently named the 2020 Golden Boy has incredibly overtaken Brazilian Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane in the Champions League goalscoring charts. The 20-year-old took just 12 games to reach that landmark.
Brazil icon Ronaldo only managed to score 14 times in the Champions League throughout his career while former French midfielder Zidane also netted just 14 goals.

Dramatic pictures show a child rapist collapsing in pain after being whipped 146 times in public. The 19-year-old abuser begged for mercy as he received the brutal punishment in Idi Rayeuk, East Aceh, Indonesia. After collapsing, the man was briefly treated by a medic before the flogging was restarted by a member of the Sharia police.
The teenager was arrested earlier this year on charges of molesting and raping a child, according to reports.

FIFA unveils full nominees list of The Best FIFA Player of the Year Awards 2020

 

Nominees for the 2020 Best FIFA  Player of the Year awards have been announced ahead of the annual ceremony. Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Lewandowski, Lucy Bronze and Sam Kerr are amongst the biggest names to have been nominated for this year's award. The awards ceremony was introduced in 2016, after FIFA broke out from the Ballon d'or, and Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the first prize, before retaining it in 2017.  Luka Modric picked up the award in 2018, before Lionel Messi came out on top in 2019.
 This year’s ceremony will be held on 17 December, and FIFA have announced their full list of candidates for the seven individual trophies on offer , stating that public voting open until 9 December at 11:59pm on FIFA.com.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic slams EA Sports for using his 'name and face in FIFA 21 without his knowledge or permission'

 

39-year-old AC Milan star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken to social media to vent at EA sports, makers of the FIFA 21 game franchise, alleging his image was included in the hugely popular video game without his permission.
 According to Zlatan he is not a member of FIFpro, the professional body that all professional footballers belong too, and someone is making money off him without his knowledge.
 On Monday night, Zlatan made a social media rant saying it is “time to investigate”.
“Who gave FIFA EA Sport permission to use my name and face? @FIFPro?” he wrote on Twitter.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Iran's top nuclear scientist, assassinated near Tehran

 

 Iran's most senior nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh has been assassinated near the capital Tehran, the country's defence ministry has confirmed. Fakhrizadeh died in hospital after an attack in Absard, in Damavand county.
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, has condemned the killing "as an act of state terror".
Western intelligence agencies believe Fakhrizadeh was behind a covert Iranian nuclear weapons programme.
"If Iran ever chose to weaponise (enrichment), Fakhrizadeh would be known as the father of the Iranian bomb," one Western diplomat told Reuters news agency in 2014.
Iran insists its nuclear programme is exclusively for peaceful purposes.
