Horrified villagers searching for their missing pal were shocked when they found him in the stomach of a 7m-long python who had swallowed him whole. Akbar Salubiro was still wearing  his boots, short and t-shirt when he was cut from the belly of the beast. The snake was sliced open with an 18-inch hunting knife after villagers hunting for Salubiro found it in his back garden,UK Mirror reports. The 25-year-old vanished after he set off for work harvesting palm oil in a remote village on the island of west sulawesi, Indonesia, on Sunday night.When he didn't return home concerned friends and relatives began looking for him the next evening.

I personally murdered 18 people - Teenage Boko Haram confesses

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Tuesday paraded a 17-year-old Boko Haram suspect, who admitted killing 18 people since he joined the group three years ago. The suspect, Ali Mustafa, said he was forced to join the deadly group when Boko Haram terrorists attacked his village in Monguno and left with many boys. The teenager said he gained skill handling assault rifles, with which he executed his victims.
“I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago,” he said.
“Boko Haram insurgents came to our village and forcefully took many of us away. We were kept in the bush camp near Kala Balge and from there we carried out various operations, during which I personally killed 18 persons.

Man burning old books caused wildfire that burned 10 homes and 19 sheds

Several families lost their homes after a man decided that it was a good idea to burn old books in the woods, according to police in Florida. The Florida Forest Service said that a fire burned 693 acres in Nassau County, destroying numerous homes and sheds. Police said that by the time the fire was extinguished, 2 homes and 19 sheds were destroyed while another 8 homes were damaged. The Florida Fire Service of Jacksonville, said that the Garfield Road fire was caused by someone burning paperback books off CR121 in Nassau County.
“Burning household garbage is illegal in Florida,” the fire department said.
The man, who was not identified, was sent a bill for the cost of fighting the fire. Those who lost property in the fire, can file lawsuits against the man. Luckily, nobody was injured from the fire.

Mexican man cleared in sexual assault of schoolgirl because he didn't enjoy it

A Mexican judge has freed a wealthy young man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a schoolgirl, on the grounds that the perpetrator did not enjoy himself. Diego Cruz, 21, was one of four young men from prominent families in the coastal state of Veracruz who were nicknamed “Los Porkys” on social media after they were accused of seizing a classmate from their elite private school as she left a New Year’s party on 1 January 2015.  In a ruling which was made public on Monday, Judge Anuar González found that although Cruz had touched the victim’s breasts and penetrated her with his fingers, he had done so without “carnal intent” – and so was not guilty of assault.

6 killed in Zimbabwe plane crash

A small aircraft chartered by Mozambican ports company Cornelder has crashed near the Mozambique-Zimbabwe border, killing all six occupants. It is believed that six people among them four Green Motors Services (GMS) directors died in a plane crash at Vumba Mountain. According to Zitamar, Cornelder Mozambique, the company using the plane, is a private joint venture between Moçambique Ports and Railways (CFM) and Cornelder Holdings based in Rotterdam, Holland. The company's chairman, Adelino Mesquita, was named among the victims of today's crash. It is believed that the four directors were on their way from Beira to attend a board meeting in Mutare.
Investigations to establish the cause of the accident are underway but preliminary investigations attribute the crash to bad weather. The wreckage of the eight seater plane and body parts of the victims were strewn all over the place near the mountain peak.

Burglar gets stuck on fence by his trouser

A suspected thief was reportedly arrested in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday after he was spotted in a rather unusual position: dangling from a fence by his trousers. Witnesses said the hapless fellow had been seen trying to open some doors at Miles Elementary School at around 10.30 on Friday morning. There were no pupils on site at the time due to the school being on holiday.

Malaria kills over 150 in Zimbabwe after heavy rains

At least 150 people have died of malaria in Zimbabwe over the past two months, with nearly 90 000 infections recorded, a government official said Monday, blaming the upsurge on intense rains.
“We have seen increased cases of malaria due to the more rains received this year that increased the breeding grounds for mosquitoes,” Joseph Mberikunashe, malaria director in the ministry of health, told AFP.
Mberikunashe said 151 deaths and 89 261 malaria cases had been recorded in the past two months following heavy rains that also caused deadly floods. He said that while a rise in malaria cases was expected after the rains, some of the deaths may have been caused by delays in seeking medical care.

CAF secretary general El Amrani resigns

The Confederation of African Football’s secretary general Hicham El Amrani resigned on Sunday, just over a week after elections swept long-standing president Issa Hayatou from power. El Amrani, in a letter to African football associations, said he would be departing on Monday, but gave no reason for his decision. The 37-year-old Moroccan had served as secretary general for the last six years.
Hayatou was deposed as CAF president 10 days ago at elections in Ethiopia, where six of his allies on the body’s executive committee also lost their positions.  The 70-year-old Hayatou had served as president for 29 years. New CAF president Ahmad of Madagascar is due to meet staff members in Cairo on Monday.

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned Miss South Africa 2017 on Sunday night at the Sun City Superbowl. The 21-year-old from Sedgefield, Western Cape went ahead of Boipelo Mabe who was crowned the second runner-up and Adè van Heerden who came as first runner-up to win the 59th annual beauty pageant.
 Demi who is entitled to R1-millon in cash, as well as a bouquet of other prizes will represent South Africa at both the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants. She was crowned by the previous winner, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene.

Russian opposition leader, Alexey Navalny fined and jailed for 15 days

Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny has been jailed for 15 days over his role in a mass anti-corruption protest in Moscow. Navalny, who was arrested at Sunday's demonstration, was sentenced by a court in Moscow on Monday afternoon for disobeying a police officer. The verdict was tweeted by his press secretary. He was also fined 20,000 roubles (around $350) after being convicted of organizing the march and disturbing public peace.

Anti-apartheid icon Ahmed Kathrada dies

Anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Kathrada, who spent 26 years in jail – many of them alongside Nelson Mandela  – for acts of sabotage against South Africa's white minority government, died in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning at the age of 87. He had been admitted to hospital with blood clotting in his brain earlier this month. Kathrada was born on August 21, 1929, to Indian immigrant parents in a small town in northwestern South Africa . He was among those tried and jailed alongside Mandela in the Rivonia trial in 1964, which drew worldwide attention and highlighted the brutal legal system under the apartheid regime.
After the end of apartheid, he served from 1994 and 1999 as parliamentary counsellor to President Mandela in the first African National Congress (ANC) government. Al Jazeera's Tania Page, reporting from Johannesburg, said that it was a sad day in South Africa – where Kathrada was affectionately known as "Uncle Kathy" – as tributes poured in about his widely perceived kindness, humility, and honesty.

Parents murder 9-year-old son and tell police that 2-year-old boy shot brother in the head

The parents of a young boy who was shot in the head, blamed their other child for being behind the killing, according to police in Arizona. Phoenix police said that they have arrested Wendy Lavarnia, 28, and Kansas Lavarnia, 31, after being accused of killing 9-year-old Landen Lavarnia. Both parents have been charged with first-degree murder. According to the police investigation, The parents plotted to kill their 9-year-old son and then blame the 2-year-old child.
Wendy called police on Monday, saying that her 2-year-old son shot his 9-year-old brother in the head.

Siblings arrested after police found $24 million cash in walls of their home

It took Florida authorities six years of hard work to bring down a pair of drug dealers.However, their efforts paid off as they not only arrested a brother and sister team, but authorities have also recovered the largest stash of money in the department's history. 44-year-old Luis Hernandez-Gonzalez, and his sister Salma Hernandez, 32, were both taken into custody after Miami-Dade police and the Drug Enforcement Agency worked together to bring them down. Hernandez-Gonzalez ran a business called The Blossom Experience. According to his website, he sold lights and gardening equipment.

A smartphone that can accurately test sperm count

Low sperm count is a marker for male infertility, a condition that is actually a neglected health issue worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Current methods to diagnose male infertility require laboratory equipment that can cost up to $100,000. On top of that, standard methods often require a specially trained technician. A team of researchers at Harvard is trying to change that. Researchers have developed a rapid infertility diagnostic tool that attaches to a smartphone. The phone attachment works with a smartphone app the researchers created to count the number of sperm and measure motility, which are markers for infertility.

The father of a young boy said that he was extremely proud of his son who managed to pull a large snake from underneath a car and place it safely into a bag, according to a video that was uploaded to the Internet. 14-year-old Oli Wardrope of Queensland, has been capturing snakes since he was 5 years old, according to his father, Chazza Wardrope. Yogi McDougall recorded the recent encounter the boy had with the large snake. The boy and his father arrived at the scene at which a large snake was crawling underneath a car. The fearless boy lied down on the ground underneath the car and began pulling the snake out from underneath the vehicle.

Chinese man moves his home 492 feet after Govt threatens to demolish the property

After villagers were threatened by the government to demolish their properties in other to make way for a new provincial highway, a Chinese man has been forced to move his home 492 feet to avoid losing it. Despite the government offer to compensate owners of 165 homes in Taixing City, China's Jiangsu, the determine villager who didn't want to part ways with his three-storey property, spent 120,000 yuan (£13,959) to move the entire house, using wooden rollers. The relocation which took only two days was completed on March 21, and he was also compensated by the government for moving his house, People's Daily Online reported.
