He also accused his ex-wife of being involved in the alleged theft, alleging they stashed some of the money in Uruguay. He is suing ex-wife Claudia Villafane and daughters Dalma and Giannina.

Tenerife nightclub dancefloor collapses, injuring 40

The dancefloor of a nightclub in Tenerife has collapsed, injuring 40 people. Clubbers fell through the floor to the basement of the Butterfly Disco Pub at about 02:30 local time (02:30 GMT) on Sunday morning. Several people suffered broken bones, including leg fractures. The club is in a shopping centre in Playa de las Americas, a clubbing hotspot in the south of the Spanish island popular with tourists. Those injured are said to be from a number of different countries, including Spain, France, the UK, Belgium and Romania.

A  daughter who was unhappy that her parents separated hired a hitman to kill her father’s new girlfriend so he can get back with her mother. The man’s 22-year-old daughter Tiffany and her mother Leanne, 47, of New South Wales, Australia, came up with the plan to hire the hitman to kill her love rival. The mother and daughter were arrested after they paid the hitman to carry out the murder. The pair asked Leanne’s old friend, Chris McIlroy, to find someone to kill Stephen Loughrey for $300 and a pack of cigarettes.

Zimbabwe declares holiday on Robert Mugabe's birthday

Zimbabwe has officially declared 21 February to be Robert Gabriel Mugabe National Youth Day, thereby making the former president's birthday a public holiday, the Herald newspaper reports.
New President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to form a cabinet this week. Mr Mugabe resigned last week after a military intervention and days of mass protests. The police and army are to stage joint patrols as the country returns to normal, the authorities have said. They have already received reports of looting and illegal occupation of properties, particularly farms and houses.
Calls for the former president's birthday to be made a national holiday were adopted by the government in August, following intense lobbying by the Zanu-PF Youth League, the Herald reports.

William dos Santos of Nossa Senhora Aparecida said that the incident unfolded on Sunday. William’s friend asked to take the horse named Faceiro for a stroll on the street. When the horse approached an intersection, it got startled by a woman’s car. In response, the horse kicked the woman’s car.

Miami police have arrested 35-year-old Bresnniel Jansen Mones after being accused of having sex with his 16-year-old student multiple times. The geometry professor pleaded guilty to 2 counts of sexual activity with a familial child and 1 count of electronic transmission harmful to minors. He was sentenced to 10 years of probation.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to marry: Couple announce engagement

Prince Harry is to marry American actress Meghan Markle, it has been announced. Clarence House said in a statement that the Prince, 33, and his 36-year-old girlfriend are engaged.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. "The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

Qatar unveils World Cup's first 'reusable' stadium

Qatar on Sunday unveiled the design for what it claims is the World Cup's first 'reusable' stadium, the seventh of eight expected venues that will stage games during the 2022 tournament. Ras Abu Aboud is a 40,000 seater stadium that will be built on Doha's southern waterfront and host matches up to the quarter-final stage. After the tournament the stadium will be taken down, with the parts put in to containers in the hope it will be reassembled and used elsewhere.
"This venue offers the perfect legacy, capable of being reassembled in a new location in its entirety or built into numerous small sports or cultural venues," said Hassan al-Thawadi, secretary-general of Qatar's World Cup organising committee.

Cult murderer Charles Manson 'has left his entire estate to a pen pal - cutting his wife and three children out of his will'. The document of his will - said to be dated February 14 2002 - allegedly leaves all his possessions, earnings and even his body to Matthew Roberts, who first wrote to Manson in 1997. Manson, who died last week aged 83, is believed to have made $250,000 while in prison through merchandising rights to his image which has since been used on T-shirts and selling art he created. According to  TMZ, also leaves his "exclusive music catalogue" to Mr Roberts.

Man shoots woman to death after mistaking her for a deer

On Wednesday, a western New York woman was walking her dog when she was fatally shot by a man who told police he thought she was a deer. According to Sgt. Josh Ostrander of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas B. Jadlowski was the neighbor of 43-year-old Rosemary Billquist when he shot her with a single-shot pistol. Jadlowski told officials that he was 200 yards away from Billquist when he shot her. When he discovered she wasn’t a deer he immediately called the police.

Maksud Khan, 35, was admitted to hospital with abdominal pains and doctors performed an endoscopy to investigate the cause. But they were amazed to find hundreds of coins, 1.5kg of nails, dozens of shaving blades, shards of glass, stones, and a 6-inch piece of rusted iron shackle. Surgeons at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, India, immediately operated and removed 7kg of foreign objects.

Pastor arrested for having sex with 14-year-old girl several times and getting her pregnant

Police in Colorado arrested a pastor who they said had sex with a girl and got her pregnant. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 22-year-old Romello Leach of Colorado Springs after he was recorded confessing to the crimes. Police are now trying to determine if there are more victims. Police said that Leach was associated with several churches and he had access to many children and teens.

Ousted Zimbabwe finance minister Chombo faces corruption charges

Former Zimbabwe finance minister Ignatius Chombo, among those detained by the military before Robert Mugabe resigned as president, was charged on Saturday with corruption, including trying to defraud the central bank in 2004. The court appearance was the first time Chombo had been seen in public since being detained after the military seized power in “Operation Restore Legacy”, which it said was meant to remove the “criminals” around Mugabe.
Chombo, a Mugabe ally who had been promoted to finance minister in October, told the court that he was kept blindfolded for nine days after being arrested at his home on Nov. 15.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law on Saturday new measures allowing authorities to list foreign media outlets as "foreign agents" in response to what Moscow says is unacceptable US pressure on Russian media. The new law has been rushed through both Russian houses of parliament in the last two weeks. It will now allow Moscow to force foreign media to brand news they provide to Russians as the work of "foreign agents" and to disclose their funding sources.

Search for missing Argentine submarine will continue, country's president says

The search for the missing Argentine submarine lost in the South Atlantic will continue on, the country’s president said on Friday, nine days after it first disappeared on Nov. 15.
“The disappearance and current search of the ARA San Juan submarine has touched all Argentines,” President Mauricio Macri said while at the navy’s headquarters in Buenos Aires. “It’s a difficult moment for all, but obviously, especially for the families of the 44 crew members.”
“I’m here to guarantee you that we will carry on with the search, especially now that we have the support of all the international community,” Macri said.

The Borno Government, Nigeria says plans are on the way to convert the house of the former leader of Boko Haram sect, Mohammed Yusuf, to a museum. The state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Mohammed Bulama, disclosed this when he spoke at the 9th National Council for Culture, Tourism and National Orientation held in Dutse, Jigawa recently.

Student throws newborn baby out of window after giving birth in secret

A college student in China has reportedly thrown her newborn baby out of the window of her dorm room after giving birth in secret. The baby, whose gender has not been identified, was found dead in an alley next to a student accommodation hall of her school. The 19-year-old mother is studying at the Xi'an Engineering College in north-west China, and it's claimed she is being trained to be a kindergarten teacher. Students living in the hall claimed to have seen the baby being thrown from an upper floor window. The teenage mother reportedly threw out the baby late at night and was seen the next morning at a self-study session as usual.
