US astronaut, Anne McClain accused of hacking her spouse's bank account from space

Nasa is reported to be investigating a claim that an astronaut accessed the bank account of her estranged spouse from the International Space Station, in what may be the first allegation of a crime committed in space. 
 According to a report by New York Times, astronaut Anne McClain acknowledges accessing the account from the ISS but denies any wrongdoing. Her estranged spouse, Summer Worden, reportedly filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

US rapper Kodak Black pleads guilty to Federal Weapons Charges, faces up to eight years in prison

Kodak Black has pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges.  The controversial American rapper whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, 22,  entered the plea at a hearing in Miami federal court on Thursday, August 22. He originally had pleaded not guilty on the firearm charges.

A surgeon suspected of s-xually assaulting around 250 children, including many while they were anaesthetised, is believed to be France's most prolific paedophile. Joel Le Scouarnec, 66, a specialist in abdominal surgery, is alleged to have attacked young boys and girls over three decades and even kept a diary of his hundreds of encounters.

13-year old boy takes his own life after finding out his crush had a boyfriend

A teenager took his own life after finding out the girl he fancied had started dating somebody else. Harry Storey, 13, told friends on Whatsapp that he was feeling suicidal but they thought he was joking. Later that night on March 1 his father Andrew found his body at their home in Chilton, Oxfordshire.
Mr Storey said: ‘I could not comprehend what I was seeing.’
He carried out CPR and when his wife walked in he shouted for her to call emergency services. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he died three days later.
An inquest heard yesterday that it was unlikely that Harry had intended to kill himself.
Mr Storey said: ‘We watched a programme where the female star had hanged herself but her friends rescued her. It made us wonder whether he had a sensationalised view of what might happen.’

Kenyan university to pay students who were left out of graduation list

Moi University is set to part with over Ksh6.5 million in payout for damages incurred by not including 13 students in the August 22nd graduation list. The 13 petitioners include; Violet Ombaka Atieno, Obegi Malak Ochweri, Ndirangu Tabitha, Verah Shawiza Manyonyi, Maureen Kwamboka, Yvonne Akhago Buluma, Omondi Linda Akinyi, John Kamau Muthoni. Others are; Sarah Karanja Wanjiku, Jakoyo Paullete Akinyi, Ruth Wamboi Mwangi, Karanja Susan Waithira, and Patience Mbithi Kamutu.

Nearly half of people don't change underwear daily - and some wear same pair for week

Recently we discovered that a worrying number of people aren't washing their underwear correctly.
And now to make matters worse, we've just found out that there are plenty of people out there who don't put on a clean pair of underwear everyday.

According to new research by underwear maker Tommy John, around half of people in the US (45 percent) don't change their underwear daily - and a disturbing 13 percent of those they spoke to even confessed to wearing the same pair of knickers or pants for an entire week.

Dem Franchize Boyz rapper Gerald 'Buddie' Tiller dies after battling cancer

Gerald Tiller, a member of Atlanta rap group Dem Franchize Boyz has passed away.  The American rapper better known as Buddie died of cancer. So So Def CEO Jermaine Dupri on Sunday night (August 25) took to Instagram to announce the passing of Buddie, born Gerald Tiller.
 “They call me Doctor Doc? I prescribe what a ni**a need,” JD wrote in a caption, quoting Buddie’s verse from Dem Franchize Boyz’ popular hit “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It.” “#ripbuddy may your soul rest easy #demfranchiseboyz. #fuckcancer”

Jeffrey Epstein's victims says even though he is dead, they will go after the billionaire's assets

Jeffrey Epstein signed a will two days before killing himself in his New York jail cell, US media reports say. Court papers filed last week in the US Virgin Islands valued Epstein's estate at more than $577 million (£475m) but listed no details of beneficiaries, the Associated Press reported.
The will, details of which were first reported by the New York Post, directs Epstein's assets to be put into trust. Epstein died while awaiting trial on s.e.x trafficking and conspiracy charges.

Mexico judge approves recreational cocaine use

A Mexican Judge has granted two people the right to use cocaine recreationally, in a ruling said to be the first of its kind.  Commenting on the ruling, the Mexico United Against Crime (MUCD) which seeks to end the country's "war on drugs" described it as a "historic step". However for the two petitioners to "possess, transport and use cocaine" which they are not expected to sell, the ruling must be reviewed by a higher court.

Son of Liberia's ex-president, Charles Sirleaf accused of printing $16m is re-arrested

Authorities in Liberia have re-arrested the son of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, over with the unlawful printing of local currency worth millions of dollars. Last year $15.5bn Liberian dollars ($104m) of freshly minted currency disappeared from Liberia's ports.
Charles Sirleaf, who was a deputy governor of Liberia's Central Bank, was arrested over this and due to face trial for economic sabotage, criminal conspiracy and theft.
He was arrested on Tuesday after state prosecutors added a further charge of money laundering to the accusations.
Specifically, he is accused of being involved in asking the printing company who printed the $104m to print a further $16m.
He has denied all wrongdoing.

Weinstein's lawyer has said that media coverage and the 'circus-like atmosphere' that surrounded his past court appearances in Manhattan is proof that the trial needs to be moved.

Scientists develop blood test that predicts whether you'll die in next 10 years

Scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing have developed a new blood test that can predict whether you’ll die within the next 10 years. The test relies on biomarkers in the blood linked to various factors that appear to affect your risk of death.
To develop the test, the researchers analysed 44,168 participants aged 18 to 109 - 5,512 of who died during follow-up. An analysis of the participants’ blood revealed 14 biomarkers that were associated with an increased risk of death.

New UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's girlfriend is barred from visiting US

Boris Johnson faced embarrassment last night after his girlfriend was barred from visiting the United States. Carrie Symonds, 31, applied for a visa to go to America in the next few days as part of her job with a US-based environmental group, but the American authorities have blocked the request.
It is believed the decision stems from a five-day visit made last year by Miss Symonds to East Africa, a region riven by civil war.

Cameroon jails Ayuk Tabe, 9 Ambazonia leaders for life

Cameroon’s Yaounde Military Tribunal on Tuesday sentenced 10 separatist leaders seeking independence of the English-speaking part of the country to life in prison over rebellion and terrorism charges.
The convicted have 10 days to appeal the verdict, judge Lt. Col. Misse Njone said while handing down the sentence. Among them was Sisuku Ayuk Tabe, president of the self-declared breakaway state called “Ambazonia” made up of the Northwest and the Southwest, two Anglophone regions of Francophone-majority Cameroon.

Forbes's ranking of the world's highest-paid actors for 2019 is out, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnsonsecured the top spot.  According to the publication, Johnson, whose 2019 film credits include Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw as well as the WWE-themed comedy-drama Fighting with My Family, made $89.4m (£73.7m) between 1 June 2018 and 1 June 2019.
