Blood pressure pills 'work better at bedtime'


To get the best out of your daily blood pressure medication, take it just before you go to bed, say researchers. It's a simple tip that could save lives, they say in the European Heart Journal.
The pills offer more protection against heart attacks and strokes when taken at bedtime rather than in the morning, a large new study suggests. Experts believe our body's biological 'clock' or natural 24-hour rhythm alters our response to the medication.

Boeing's 787 under pressure as Russia's Aeroflot cancels order


Boeing Co faced additional uncertainty on Wednesday over future production rates for its 787 Dreamliner after Russian carrier Aeroflot formally cancelled an order for 22 aircraft valued at about $5.5bn at list prices. The cancellation, first reported by the Seattle Times and buried in Boeing's monthly order release, is the final step in unwinding an order that had been shrouded in uncertainty ever since the airline said in 2015 it no longer needed the planes.

US World Cup winner Alex Morgan confirms she's expecting her first child with husband Servando Carrasco


US soccer star Alex Morgan and her husband, LA Galaxy player Servando Carrasco, are expecting their first child together.  The two-time World Cup winner announced on Twitter that they are expecting a baby girl in April
 "We are already in love and we haven't even met her yet. Newest member of the Carrasco family, coming soon," she wrote on social media while posting photos that showed her holding a sign that reads. "Baby girl, April 2020."

Portuguese doctor suspended after baby born without a face


A Portuguese obstetrician has been suspended after a baby was born without a nose, eyes or part of his skull. The parents of baby Rodrigo had not been aware of their son's severe physical abnormalities until he was born earlier this month.
Medical council officials have voted to suspend Dr Artur Carvalho over allegations of negligence.
It has emerged that other complaints, dating back more than a decade, have been made involving other babies. Reports of those cases, detailed by Portuguese media, have provoked widespread outrage.

Brexit: European leaders agree extension to 31 January


EU leaders have agreed in principle to extend Brexit until 31 January 2020 - meaning the UK will not leave as planned on Thursday. EU Council President Donald Tusk said it was a "flextension" - meaning the UK could leave before the deadline if a deal was approved by Parliament. It comes as MPs prepare to vote on proposals by Boris Johnson for an early general election on 12 December.
The SNP and Lib Dems have also proposed an election on 9 December.

Asamoah Gyan ordered by court to pay estranged wife over $37,000 as maintenance fee



The Divorce and Matrimonial Division of the Accra High Court presided over by Her Ladyship Mrs Justice Hafisata Amaleboba, has ordered Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan to pay his estranged wife Gifty Gyan an amount of GH¢204,392.22 (over $37,000) as maintenance fee. The figure covers a period of 15 months – from July 2018 to September 2019 – as maintenance for the three children among other things.The court, while ruling on an application for maintenance pending suit, made specific orders with specific figures covering water, electricity, calls and others.

Johannesburg mayor, Mashaba resigns in race row


The mayor of South Africa’s biggest city Johannesburg has resigned, saying he was stepping down from the main opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) over the party’s approach to racial inequality. When Herman Mashaba was elected in 2016, he became the city’s first mayor not from the ruling African National Congress (ANC) since apartheid ended in 1994.

Diddy officially files to legally change his name to Sean 'Love' Combs


Music mogul, Diddy, has finally filed to change his name from Sean John Combs to Sean Love Combs after years of consideration.  This comes two years after the rapper openly revealed plans to change his name to Brother Love.
 In a video posted to his Instagram page at that time, Diddy said, "I have some very serious, serious news...I've been praying on this and I've decided...I know it was risky cause I knew I could come off as corny to some people...like yo...I decided to change my name again.”

World's most expensive bottle of whisky sells for £1.5m


The "Holy Grail" of whiskies smashed the record for the most expensive bottle ever sold, going for nearly £1.5 million at a London auction. The Macallan 1926 60-year-old single malt from cask number 263 had been expected to sell for up to £450,000, but went under the hammer for £1.45 million ($1.9 million, 1.7 million euros) late Thursday, beating the £1.2 million fetched last year by another bottle from the same cask.

Leicester beat Southampton 9-0 in record English top-flight away win


Leicester City recorded the biggest ever English top-flight away win by beating 10-man Southampton 9-0 at a rain-sodden St Mary's to move up to second place in the Premier League on Friday. The biggest margin of victory on the road previously was eight goals, a joint record held by three clubs including an 8-1 win by Manchester United over Nottingham Forest in 1999. The result also equalled Manchester United's record for the largest win ever in the Premier League in a 9-0 win at home against Ipswich Town in 1995.

New York pastor charged with murder after running over his estranged wife then finishing her off with machete in front of their grand children



Victor Mateo a 63-year-old New York pastor has been indicted for murdering his estranged wife with a machete after running her over on October 3.  Victor who was a pastor at the Christian Congregation The Redeemer Church in the Bronx has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Update: Nelly settles sexual assault lawsuit out of court with his UK accuser


Nelly has reportedly settled a sexual assault lawsuit after reaching an agreement out of court with his accuser.  Recall the 44-year-old American rapper, real name Cornell Iral Haynes Jr.was sued by a British woman for allegedly sexually assaulting her after a concert in Southend in December 2017.
 Essex police started investigating Nelly in February 2018 after the female fan accused him of sexual assault. The woman said she didn't go to the police immediately because she didn't think she'd be believed.

Man saves his nail clippings for a year and turns them into engagement ring


When it comes to engagement rings, we know that not everyone will be able to afford a real diamond - and that's nothing to be ashamed of. Instead of splashing the cash, some couples decide to buy cheaper ones or craft unique rings themselves out of sentimental items for a low-budget alternative.
And while a lot of people have no qualms about being proposed to with a homemade trinket, it seems there's one thing many people would really hate to receive.
Let it be known that the people of social media, and surely all sane people out there, draw the line at an engagement ring made from a man's fingernail clippings.

Boy, 2, dies after his dad ‘spent £130,000 donated for treatment on prostitutes, drink and drugs'


A 2-year-old boy who suffered from a rare disease has died after his father allegedly spent all the money raised for his treatment to party at hotels with prostitutes.  João Miguel Alves suffered from spinal muscular atrophy but died on October 17, 2019. His dad Mateus Henrique Leroy Alves, 37, was found in a luxury hotel where he had been staying for two months after his wife Karine Rodrigues reported him to police.
 He is alleged to have spent the money donated for his child's treatment on designer clothes, watches, drugs, sex workers and alcohol.

Boeing’s jetliner chief steps down as 737 Max crisis deepens


Boeing said Kevin McAllister is stepping down as head of its jetliner division after less than three years amid a crisis engulfing the 737 Max and production snarls with other planes. Stan Deal, the head of Boeing’s global services business, will replace McAllister, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. McAllister, who joined Boeing shortly before the Max’s debut, is the first to depart from Boeing’s upper echelons since two deadly crashes prompted a worldwide grounding that began in March.

Mum and daughter drag themselves to 'court' over bed that broke during s.e.x


A furious mum who discovered her daughter had broken her bed having s.e.x is demanding she pays her £1,600 for a new one. Nicole has been at loggerheads with daughter Rhiannon ever since her night of "intense passion" which saw her and an unnamed lover snap the bed frame and break several wooden slats.
Rhiannon claims she cannot afford to pay her mum for a replacement, but Nicole has branded her excuse “bulls**t!”.

Football fans can be fined £300 for putting a club sticker on their car


Showing your colours on your car could end up becoming an expensive mistake - and it's nothing to do with vandalism from rival fans. That's after it emerged football club stickers can count as "modifications" according to some insurance companies - and if you don't let them know, you could invalidate your cover - or even end up with 6 points on your licence and a £300 fine.

Babies born at 22 weeks 'can now survive'


Improving survival rates for extremely premature babies mean it is now possible to save the lives of babies born at 22 weeks, guidance says. Previously it was recommended that only babies born at 23 weeks or later were given treatment to save their lives. But there is now evidence those born earlier can survive - although only in small numbers - the British Association of Perinatal Medicine said.
It said most will die but a third may survive where treatment is possible.

Cardi B joins the cast of “Fast & Furious 9”


Cardi B has joined the cast of Universal’s “Fast & Furious 9” in an undisclosed role. It’s the rapper’s first movie part since her role as the stripper Diamond in STX’s drama “Hustlers.”
Vin Diesel disclosed the casting Tuesday in a post on his Instagram account with a video that showed him and Cardi B on the U.K. set of the movie.
“I’m tired, but I can’t wait,” she told Diesel’s followers. “I ain’t gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one.”
The news came a day after the announcement that Ozuna, one of Latin music’s fastest-rising stars, had joined the cast and was also in talks to join the film’s soundtrack.

Pastors using the same lady for same miracle exposed; her medical condition revealed


The lady with a bulgy stunted arm which goes back to its normal size after being prayed for, seems to have had a long relationship with Pastors as she has also been spotted with two other Pastors. The two new Pastors also used her for same miracle at their different churches. One of the Pastors has been identified as Prophet Abbey Godswill, who is reportedly the founder of Ambassadors of Christ Assembly.
