Disgusting! Woman finds gloves in takeaway lasagna

The glove Rebecca found in her takeaway lasagna
Rebecca Kelly was horrified when she realised what was in her meal bought from a restaurant in Portadown, Co Armagh. Tucking into her takeaway dinner, she thought she had come across a bit of tough cabbage - and found something a little more inedible.
Rebecca Kelly started pulling at a the troublesome morsel, and to her shock produced a whole plastic glove from a side dish of coleslaw, reports Belfast Live. The mum-of-two, Co Armagh, had got the carry-out from a restaurant in Portadown but was stunned when she started eating it at home.
She said: “It was Saturday evening and I got a lasagne and two kids meals.
"I went home and got it out on the plate and sat down to enjoy my meal.
"I didn’t really enjoy the lasagne so I tried a bit of the coleslaw at the side and I thought there was this big bit of white cabbage I was pulling out.
“But as I started to pull at it this full glove came out. It was a full glove covered in coleslaw, it was disgusting.
"I was really shocked, I just couldn’t believe it.”
Rebecca claims she rang JD Tipler, the restaurant where she bought the takeaway, and was offered a replacement lasagne followed by a free meal which she declined.
She said that she then exchanged a number of emails with the establishment but was unhappy, alleging that no one from the restaurant’s management rang her to apologise.
She added: “I was told at the start, during the phone call, that they had to wear gloves for health and safety reasons.
"I’m a cook myself and I understand that, but if a glove has gone missing the batch of food that’s been prepared should be binned.”
Rebecca said she contacted Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon District Council’s environmental health department and was told they would look into the claims.
She also took a picture of the glove she says she found in the coleslaw.
When contacted by Belfast Live, JD Tipler declined to comment.
However, one member of staff said they will be contacting a solicitor over comments that have been made regarding the claims.

  1. Even after the freebies, I'll be skeptical to eat at that restaurant again
