A retired couple got a shock when a large chunk of poo smashed a hole in their roof after being flushed from a toilet on a plane. Keith and Ruth Mead were shaken up as urine and faeces, which had frozen as it sped from the jet about 30,000ft overhead, hit their home with an almighty bang. Ruth, 67, who was in the attic room but escaped unhurt, said: “It was a horrendous noise. I thought someone had crashed into the front of the house.
"Thank goodness it didn’t hit anyone – it could have killed them.”

Keith, 70, rushed outside at 9am, thinking there had been a car accident.He saw smashed roof tiles over the road and a hole of about 3ft long and 2ft wide in the roof. Fragments from the ball of poo each weighed about 1lb and were 7ins long.
Puzzled Keith, from Melksham, Wilts, picked one up but put it down when he saw it had yellow and brown streaks. After twigging what happened, he triple-bagged the ice block and put it in the freezer in readiness for the insurance claim.
Around 25 ice falls in the UK are reported to the Civil Aviation Authority each year.
