Petr Cech becomes the Premier League clean sheet record holder
Petr Cech is the new Premier League record holder for the most clean sheet after surpassing David James whose record stands at 169 matches. Arsenal's 2-0 win over Bournemouth saw the giant Czech stopper record his 170th blank, one more than the former England 'keeper.
It has taken Cech 352 appearances for Chelsea and Arsenal to reach 170 clean sheets, giving him the highest average clean sheet record since 1992 with 0.48. Cech joined the Gunners in a £10m deal last summer and his eighth clean sheet for the club helped them return to the top of the Premier League.
