Technician gets sucked into Air India jet engine after pilot misinterpreted signal and started the aircraft

An Air India technician was sucked into a jet engine when a pilot misinterpreted a signal and prematurely started the plane on Wednesday night. Airline authorities are investigating the death, which occurred at an airport in Mumbai. The technician, a member of the maintenance crew, was killed instantly. The body was mutilated to the point that it could not be sent for a post-mortem exam, according to the Press Trust of India, a news agency.
At the time of the incident, the jet was full of passengers for a flight to the southeastern city of Hyderabad. Local media identified the victim as Ravi Subramanian, a service engineer in his 40s. Air India chief Ashwani Lohani said the accident happened when the jet was being moved from an airport gate. A pilot misinterpreted a signal and switched on the engine while the Subramanian was standing nearby.
