Can someone please tell this guy not every soccer player can be like Lionel Messi!
Police in Texas collared a 31-year-old man after he allegedly beat his 8-year-old son with a belt for missing a goal during a soccer game, police said. The grandmother of Carlos Jesus Vasquez’s son called the Odessa Police Department Wednesday to report the incident, according to a press release. After further investigation, police found that Vasquez had hit the boy 10 to 20 times with a belt — and they found injuries consistent with the alleged beating. When police interviewed him, Vasquez admitted to hitting his son five to six times and said he knew he’d used excessive force.
The boy’s mother said that she witnessed the beating and threatened to call the cops on Vasquez, but didn’t because she was scared, according to the Odessa American. The Texan was arrested for third-degree felony injury to a child but was released Thursday after posting $15,000 bond.
