You won’t believe the model advert this artist placed on facebook!
An art student has advertised for vagina models on Facebook so she can make plaster casts of their private parts. Hollie Osborne took to the social networking site to call on people to get their genitals immortalised in plaster. The 26-year-old said in the advert that the procedure would be "completely discrete and nobody will know where they came from."
Plenty came forward initially - but when it came to the crunch most backed out, Wales Online reports. And not one male volunteered for the challenge.
“It was awesome, I really enjoyed doing it,” Hollie said.
“I was surprised at how not embarrassing and how difficult the process was.
“It wasn’t easy but it did go really well. I made four but I broke two because I got air in the plaster.”
The textiles student added: “The one cast was of a girl who had a piercing and it would have come out amazing.
“Until then I was going to display three at the exhibition.
Hollie used something called alginate to make the moulds – artist Cynthia Plaster Caster used the same stuff to cast the erect penises of rock stars in the 1960s - including Jimi Hendrix.
The models were first prepared.
“You put a barrier in place, like a layer of moisturiser, then you put this cold gel paste on," Hollie said.
“That sets in a three or four minutes. Then you pull it off and fill it with plaster.
“The more I did the easier it was. It was all trial and error.”
Her pals came to her house for the casting. It was done on Hollie’s coffee table. The casts will be used in Hollie’s degree show at Cardiff Metropolitan University from May 21 - 27.
“Some of my tutors didn’t know how I was going to put it in my work without making like a sex shop kind of thing, without it being 18 plus,” Hollie said.
“I think I’ve nailed it. A couple of my tutors loved it though. And on social media I got a really positive response.”
