King of Bhutan plants 108,000 trees in honor of his newborn son

82,000 families planted a tree and another 26,000 volunteers around the country continued planting until the country was covered with 108,000 new forest sapplings. This was all done in honor of the birth of King Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema’s first child. With each planting, a prayer was passed from each person to the land in honor and blessing that the prince grows up to be healthy and strong… and express the true nature of the trees through his vision of the world.
