Mother kills daughter by shoving crucifix down her throat while claiming she was possessed

Juanita has been charged with homicide

A mother of Oklahoma, was arrested after police found her daughter dead. Officers were sent to the home in the 1500 block of N. McKinley Ave., for a welfare check of a 33-year-old woman. Officers who arrived at the home, found the 33-year-old woman lying on the floor with a large crucifix on her chest. The woman was identified as Geneva Gomez. She had apparent head and neck trauma. Police also found her mother, Juanita Gomez, 50, inside the home.  Juanita told police that she killed her daughter by shoving a crucifix and a religious medallion down her throat.

When asked why she did so, Gomez said that her daughter was growling at her, which made her believe that she was possessed by the devil, police said.
Police found bruises on the mother’s hands. Juanita said that they came from her trying to “rid Satan from her daughter's body.”
Juanita also admitted punching her daughter several times. Juanita was charged with homicide and is being held without bond.
