South African pastor dies after trying to beat Jesus' record by fasting for 40 days


A popular South African pastor, Alfred Ndlovu reportedly died of malnutrition after embarking on a dry fasting that lasted for 30 days. The 44 year old pastor in a bid of beat Jesus Christ's record, left home for the bush on 17 June. He went without food or water for 30 days when he gave up the ghost , Buzzsouthafrica.com reports. His death came as a shock to his family, church members and the community at large. The middle aged man was largely known as a very spiritual person with a faith that could move mountains.
His dead body was discovered by a stranger as he was all alone in the wilderness. The stranger then alerted the police who informed his family and congregation.
