Dog lover spends over £4,000 on birthday party for her pet dogs
How much can you spend to satisfy your pets? A barmy dog lover has shelled out more than £4,000 on a birthday party for her dogs. Mutt-mad Helen Turner, from Burnley, Lancs, splashed the cash on her precious pooches to celebrate their joint first birthday.
Mollycoddled mutts Salvador and Purdy were treated to a no-expense-spared bash - complete with a clown, face painting, and three doggy birthday cakes. The Chihuahuas were joined by their three doggy siblings and other pooch pals to celebrate the special occasion - that cost nearly 10 times as much as the average children’s birthday party. The extravagant shindig makes up just a fraction of the staggering £24,000 a year Helen already splashes out on her EIGHT pampered pooches.

Helen, who runs a dog grooming salon called Any Paw Salon and Boutique, in Barnoldswick, said: “Salvador and Purdy are the youngest of my five chihuahuas, so I wanted to celebrate in style!
“I chose a Mexican theme because that’s where chihuahuas originate from, so it was like I was taking them back to their roots.
“I also booked a clown and magician, face painters and balloon artists, and even a dwarf! “It’s a chihuahua party so everything’s small - so he fitted in nicely!
“The feedback from the guests was great - everyone was amazed and said it was a fabulous party, most people were just gobsmacked.
Helen, 44, took inspiration from classic children’s birthday parties to give her adorable pooches the birthday celebration of the century.
