Stepfather breaks nose of bride's mother at wedding because bride refused to let him walk her down the aisle

A bride’s big day was ruined when her mother was taken to a hospital with a broken nose.
51-year-old Ernest Hames of England, was at the wedding of the daughter of his partner of 21 years. Since he was a big part of the bride's life, he expected to walk her down the aisle.
However, the bride, who had been preparing her wedding for two years, had other plans. She asked her biological father to walk her down the aisle. The Hull Crown Court heard that Hames had been drinking at the Lazaat hotel before turning on the mother of the bride. Hames became angry after his stepdaughter asked her biological father to walk down the aisle instead of him.
When the woman saw her boyfriend getting into a drunken rage, she went to her hotel room. He soon followed her. He then punched her in the face with force, causing her nose to bleed.
The woman was taken to the Hull Royal Infirmary, where it was revealed that she had a fractured nose along with various cuts and bruises Hames pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and he was sentenced to 12 months in prison. His attorney, Catherine Kioko-Gilligan, said that the defendant wished to “express his utmost remorse.”
