Real Madrid crashes out of Copa del Rey

A bad month got worse for Real Madrid on Wednesday. Needing to overturn a 2-1 deficit in the second leg of its tie against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid could only scrape together a 2-2 draw and crashed out of the tournament in the quarter-finals by virtue of a 4-3 defeat on aggregate. It's the third year running that Los Blancos have failed to reach the semi-finals. A 91st-minute goal from Lucas Vazquez was merely a consolation for Real Madrid, who, in the span of 10 days, went from enjoying an unbeaten run of 40 matches, to losing twice in a row, to being eliminated from the Copa del Rey.
