Man charged after hitting girlfriend’s 7-year-old son 62 times

A man has been charged with child abuse after video of him emerged allegedly beating a seven-year-old boy 62 times with a belt because he stole a phone charger. Kordarell Williams, 27, reportedly hit the son of his girlfriend during the five-minute attack film in northwest Houston, Texas. The incident was later reported to the police. Police tracked him down within three hours after using the registration plate captured in the video . Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said: "He struck this child 62 times, put him in a headlock and knocked him over on numerous occasions with the blows.

“This is just hard for me to describe. The brutalness (sic) of how he beat this child."
In court, Williams admitted hitting the boy because he stole a phone charger. However, he claimed he had only hit the boy 16 times. A prosecutor said: “They observed the complainant to have bruising on both eyes and a swollen right eye, welts on his buttocks, legs and welts on his chest and bruising on his neck."
Williams is behind bars on a $30,000 bond.
