Boy left with horrifying 80% burns after playing with gas cylinder which exploded in his hands
These shocking pictures show the aftermath of young boy severely burnt while playing with a gas cylinder. The boy is believed to be the son of a migrant worker in Thailand and had recently moved from their native Cambodia. After his father accepted work in a Thai restaurant, the family moved into a workers' camp set up by the restaurant owner known as Uncle Wuth. While playing with friends in the camp, the boy discovered the potentially deadly gas cylinder. Just minutes later he erupted into a fireball which left him with 80% burns across the whole of his body.
With treatment costing around 500,000 Thai baht, around £11,000, the migrant family were resigned to the fact their little boy would more than likely lose his life to his shocking injuries. But in an incredible show of generosity, restaurant owner Uncle Wuth offered to pay for every penny of the youngster's treatment. Another man, simply known as Mr Bhin, read about the family's plight on social media and offered another 300,000 Thai baht, around £7,000.
Businessman Uncle Wuth said “I already paid 300,000 and am happy to pay the rest when it arises.
