Man arrested for pretending he lost his wife and son in the Grenfell Tower fire
A 52-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly pretended he lost his wife and son in the Grenfell Tower fire in a bid to gain money and new housing. The suspect attempted to claim financial support stating he had lost all his property, the Met Police said.An investigation started after it became apparent that there were "inconsistencies" in the man's stories. Police say they spoke to nearby residents of the flat within Grenfell Tower who confirmed that the man did not live at the address.
