Photos show devastation caused as huge sinkhole swallows homes in Florida

The hole started off as the size of a swimming pool but grew to around 250ft in diameter by the afternoon. Houses have been completely destroyed. Dramatic footage shows the roof breaking off from one of the homes and getting swallowed up into the ground.
On Friday morning, homeowners north of Tampa in Land O’Lakes were told to flee their properties immediately. Some houses were completely swallowed by the hole, others crumbled as it grew. By Friday afternoon, the hole stretched up to 250 feet wide and 50 feet deep. Firefighters were able to rescue two dogs out of a house and retrieve some belongings before the first home started collapsing into the quickly expanding hole.
