Restaurant forced to respond after diners spot creepy symbol in restaurant map

A bizarre conspiracy theory is floating around the internet. It suggests a restaurant chain specialising in steak and deep-fried onions is actually a Satanic cult.
Why would people think that?
It appears that a number of Outback joints, separate patterns in several cities, together form an eerie resemblance to a pentagram. To most, the five-pronged star is a symbol used within Wiccan practice and in ancient cultures. In America, however, it's more often associated with Satanism.
This has got to be a joke, right? Perhaps an elaborate ploy by vegans to dissuade Americans from their incessant beef-based indulgences?

Some people don't appear to think so. The fact that some Outback Steakhouses can be joined together to form stars is indisputable.
Outback Steakhouse responded with an onion – a 'Bloomin' Onion', to be exact, which is one of the chain's trademark starters. The American dish is simply a large onion that's been cut to resemble a flower, then battered and deep-fried. Of course, the creepy symbols are just all a bizarre coincidence. With nearly 1,000 restaurants, there are always going to be some possibilities for shapes if you think creatively enough.
