A landlord and his tenant lured a teenage girl to their homes by promising to pay her to do household chores for them, according to police in Nigeria. Lagos police said that they have arrested 51-year-old Ishola Idris and 32-year-old Linus Okonkwo after they were accused of having sex with the 13-year-old girl over a period of 8 months. Both suspects were charged with child defilement and sexual assault when they appeared before Judge Bolanle Osusanmi. If convicted, the landlord and tenant face up to life in prison.
They were booked into jail and bail was set at $1,400 each. According to the police investigation, Idris owned a home on Celestial Road and rented an apartment to Okonkwo. Idris approached the girl's father and offered the girl a job as a maid at his home. The father agreed, and the girl went to live with Idris. Idris immediately began having sex with the girl. Eventually, his tenant, Okonkwo, joined in on the sexual assaults. The girl was raped and sodomized multiple times over a period of 8 months. When the girl's father heard rumors that his daughter was turned into a sex slave, he came to pick her up and called the police.
