Three boys killed as car crashes into London bus stop

Three teenage boys have died after a car crashed into them at a bus stop in west London. The three, all believed to be 16, were pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics. Police said all of the next of kin had been informed. Floral tributes were left at the scene to boys named George, Josh and Harry.  Police were called to Shepiston Lane, Hayes, at 8.41pm on Friday night. A 28-year-old man who was inside the vehicle – a black Audi – was arrested and taken to a west London hospital for treatment before being taken into custody for questioning.

The Metropolitan police said: “The vehicle involved is believed to have been travelling at high speed and came to a stop a short distance away from the collision.
“At least two males are reported to have left this car following the collision. One of them was detained by members of the public. This 28-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.”
Staff at a football club on Shepiston Lane said they believed the teenagers had been on their way to a 16th birthday party on the premises. A member of staff at the Goals centre said the party had been cancelled after the tragedy. Det Jane Shaw, of the Met’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “These are horrific circumstances that have resulted in three young people losing their lives. I need anyone who saw what happened to contact police immediately.”
