Coin created to commemorate the marriage of Prince Harry & Meghan
The Royal wedding frenzy is continuing to prevail as the nation prepares to watch Meghan Markle and Prince Harry exchange their vows later this month. The Royal Mint has unveiled a new design for an official coin released today to mark the special occasion. The £5 coin is adorned with an image of the couple gazing into each other’s eyes, clearly based on the photographs taken at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden during the photocall that took place on November 27 to announce their engagement.
The coin, which is available in gold, silver and brilliant uncirculated varieties, was designed by Jody Clark, a member of The Royal Mint’s Coin Design team. The gold proof coin created for the upcoming royal wedding is priced at £1,980, the silver proof at £82.50 and the brilliant uncirculated coin costs £13.
