Florida mum murders daughter with autism by throwing her into the river

A mum has hurled her four-year-old daughter from a bridge into a river to her death, police in Florida say. The parent, named as Shakayla Denson, 26, has been arrested after allegedly throwing her young child into the water in front of horrified onlookers.
Police in Tampa have now charged the woman with first-degree felony murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of four-year-old Je'Hyrah Daniels. Divers scoured the Hillsborough River for hours on Thursday and pulled the child's body out at around 4.30pm. She was brought to St. Joseph's Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Denson was located walking in a nearby area when she was taken into custody.
Investigators say that Denson had stolen a grey Nissan Altima from a local repair garage before the killing. She has also been charged with Grand Theft Auto. Tampa's police chief said the force is in the process of contacting child’s family members.
A GoFundMe page appears to have been set up by Ms Denson over nine months ago requesting donations for her daughter who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The page shows Danson with her Je'Hyrah and includes a caption: ""My daughter was recently diagnosed with autism spectrum, my goal is to start saving for therapy equipment, and also for je'hyrah's future.
"I've also gathered interest in reaching out to others living with autism, and would enjoy providing strategies and resources I've learn to help them get threw the day. Thanks and i appreciate it."
An autopsy will now be carried out to determine the child's official cause of death. Denson is still being processed in jail.
