The Archbishop of Colombo in Sri Lanka has announced that Sunday Masses have been cancelled until further notice following the Easter bombings in the country. Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith made the announcement during a news conference in the Sri Lankan capital on Friday over concerns about possible further attacks.
He also appealed for financial support to rebuild the lives of the victims of the terror attack and to reconstruct the churches targeted. St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Negombo, north of Colombo, was one of the churches targeted.
Over 250 people were killed in suicide bombings carried out by The Islamic State on Easter Sunday.
Police have so far arrested 75 people with officials still searching for more suspects.
