Japan tells the world it has been saying the name of it's prime minister Abe Shinzo incorrectly 13-years after he took office
It has been revealed that the name of the Japanese Prime Minister has been said incorrectly for 13 years after he took office. Following the coronation of Emperor Naruhito, he has ordered media and the rest of the world to call the leader they have known as Shinzo Abe by his right name, Abe Shinzo.
'I plan to ask international media organisations to do this,' Foriegn Minister Taro Kono said.

The trend was first championed by Instagram user @gret_chen_chen. She attached false eyelashes to her nose to give the impression that she has long and full nostril hair. Others immediately began to copy her and it became a trend. This trend has now given rise to the tag #nosehairextensions.

The Godfather star Carmine Caridi dies at 85
The Godfather actor Carmine Caridi has died at 85. The actor, who was best known for his role as Carmine Rosato in The Godfather II passed away at Cedars Sinai hospital after falling into a coma on Wednesday.
Caridi's friend, actor and director Chazz Palminteri, confirmed his death to TMZ.
The outlet reports that the veteran actor was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles where he slipped into a coma and never regained consciousness.
Last male Sumatran rhino in Malaysia dies
The future of the critically endangered Sumatran rhino has been struck a blow, with the death of Malaysia's last male. The rhino once roamed across much of Asia, but has now almost disappeared from the wild, with fewer than one hundred animals believed to exist. The death of Tam, who lived at a wildlife reserve on the island of Borneo, was announced on Monday. A female called Iman is now the only remaining member of the species in Malaysia.

Seven dead and 19 missing as tourist boat crashes and sinks in Budapest
Seven people have been confirmed dead after a sightseeing boat carrying 33 passengers and two crew crashed and sank in the Danube River. A further 19 people are still missing after the boat hit another vessel, sparking the tragedy in Budapest on Wednesday night. The boat was carrying tourists from Korea while the two crew members were identified as Hungarian.
Google reverses decision to cut ties with Huawei

Inter Milan boss, Luciano Spalletti sacked
Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has been sacked after two years at the club. Former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte is now set to replace the 60-year-old at the San Siro.
Spalletti guided the Serie A side to fourth place and the final Champions League spot ahead of rivals AC Milan but they finished 21 points behind champions Juventus and were knocked out of the Champions League during the group stages last season.
A club statement on Twitter today read: 'FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team. 'The club wishes to thank Spalletti for his work and the results achieved together.'

The man who set himself on fire on a lawn near the White House on Wednesday has died in the hospital after suffering burns to 85 percent of his body. Arnav Gupta, 33, was identified by US Park Police on Thursday after dying in the hospital.

A man set himself on fire on the White House lawn. Nearby streets have been cordoned off and the man has been rushed to hospital. Emergency services are said to have surrounded the scene in Washington DC. The Secret Service has tweeted: "At approximately 12.20pm. a man lit himself on fire on the Ellipse near 15th and Constitution Ave., Secret Service personnel are on scene assisting (National Park Service) and (US Park Police) in rendering first aid."

Alabama passes bill banning abortion
Alabama has become the latest US state to move to restrict abortions by passing a bill to outlaw the procedure in almost all cases. The law includes a ban on abortion in cases of rape or incest. Supporters say they expect the law to be blocked in court but hope that the appeals process will bring it before the Supreme Court.
They want the court, which now has a conservative majority, to overturn the 1973 ruling legalising abortion.

San Francisco is first US city to ban facial recognition
Legislators in San Francisco have voted to ban the use of facial recognition, the first US city to do so.
The emerging technology will not be allowed to be used by local agencies, such as the city’s transport authority, or law enforcement. Additionally, any plans to buy any kind of new surveillance technology must now be approved by city administrators.
Opponents of the measure said it will put people’s safety at risk and hinder efforts to fight crime.
Those in favour of the move said the technology as it exists today is unreliable, and represented an unnecessary infringement on people’s privacy and liberty.

It’s a warning that many people have already been ignoring for years, but now Microsoft has finally admitted that you don’t need to ‘safely remove’ USB drives. The tech giant has updated Windows 10’s default setting for USB and Thunderbolt-enabled external devices.
Microsoft said: “This policy manages storage operations in a manner that keeps the device ready to remove at any time.
“You can remove the device without using the Safely Remove Hardware process.”
Essentially, this means that you can feel free to yank out that USB, without having to click ‘safely remove’.

30 dead, more than 150 missing after boat sinks on Congo lake
Thirty people are dead, and dozens of passengers are missing after a boat carrying more than 350 passengers capsized on a lake in the Democratic Republic of Congo, local officials told CNN on Monday. Simon Mbo Wemba, mayor of the town of Innogo in western Congo told CNN local divers leading the search operation have also found 183 survivors from the site of the sinking.

Plastic waste dumped in Malaysia will be returned to UK, US and others
Malaysia will return 450 tonnes of contaminated plastic waste to the countries that shipped it, in a refusal to become a dumping ground for the world's trash.
Nine shipping containers at Port Klang, west of Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday were found to contain mislabeled plastic and non-recyclable waste, including a mixture of household and e-waste.
Yeo Bee Yin, minister of energy, science, technology, environment and climate change, said that the US, UK, Canada, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Singapore should expect waste products to be returned.

Trent Gates, 23, cut off his testicles back in April 2016, then, in January 2017, he removed his penis with an ultra-sharp ceramic knife. He carried out the procedure after seeing a photo of another famous nullo called Gelding at the age of 15. Trent, from Washington DC, only used iced water to numb the pain for the first procedure. For the second removal, he took regular painkillers to counter the pain.
Israel Folau sacked following anti-gay social media post
Australian rugby union star Israel Folau has been sacked after he posted an anti-gay statement on social media. A devout Christian who has made 73 international appearances for the Wallabies, Folau was found guilty of a code of conduct breach last week, following a homophobic social media post, which listed "drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters," reading underneath, "Hell awaits you."
The controversial Instagram post in April has not been deleted.

Match-fixing in football: Spanish police make arrests in top two divisions
A number of La Liga and second division players and club executives have been arrested in Spain as part of an investigation into match-fixing. Police say 11 people are expected to be arrested in total and at least three matches are being investigated across the country's top three divisions.
A spokesman for La Liga said the police action followed a complaint it had made over a match in May 2018.
"Among those detained are active and retired players," police said.
Presidents and directors of a club have also been arrested the police said.
Johnson & Johnson faces trial over opioid crisis in Oklahoma

Two people dead and dozens injured after tornado levels a hotel in Oklahoma
At least two people have died after a tornado ripped through a hotel in Oklahoma. The American Budget Value Inn in El Reno was torn apart last night, with witnesses saying people are being pulled from the rubble.
A nearby mobile home park in the path of the twister was also destroyed. The total death toll it is not yet clear, while City mayor Matt White did confirm the two deaths at the hotel.

Ethiopia apologises for map that erases Somalia
Ethiopia's foreign ministry has apologised after a map of Africa on its website incorporated neighbouring Somalia within its own borders.
"We sincerely regret any confusion and misunderstanding this incident might have caused," the statement said.
Somalia had been completely erased from the map, but the self-declared territory of Somaliland - which is not internationally recognised - was shown.

Chinese engineering student in the U.S.found guilty of using fake iPhones to defraud Apple of 1,500 devices
Over the period of two years, a Chinese national in US sent devices that looked like iPhones to Apple, saying they wouldn’t turn on and should be replaced under warranty. According to police reports, he didn’t just submit a couple of the devices, he delivered in person or shipped to Apple around 3,000 of them. Apple responded by sending almost 1,500 replacement iPhones, each with an approximate resale value of $600, but the devices that Quan Jiang sent Apple were fake.

A referee has tragically died after collapsing during a football match played at the world's highest stadium in Bolivia. Victor Huge Hurtado passed away in hospital after he fainted during the game at the El Alto Municipal Stadium.
The tragic scene occurred during a game between Always Ready and Oriente Petrolero in the Bolivian Premier League.

US judge is suspended for his anti-Trump comments
A US judge, Michael Kwan has been suspended for six months without pay after making derogatory comments about Donald Trump, including criticising his “inability to govern and political incompetence.”
Kwan’s suspension earlier this week by the state’s supreme court says that his behaviour was in violation of the judicial code of conduct and sullied the reputation of the judiciary.
“Judge Kwan’s behaviour denigrates his reputation as an impartial, independent, dignified, and courteous jurist who takes no advantage of the office in which he serves,” the court said in a 19-page opinion.

President Trump feels bad about Theresa May resigning
Donald Trump says he "feels badly" about Theresa May resigning as Prime Minister but he added that it was "for the good of her country."
Speaking outside the White House ahead of a visit to Japan, he told reporters: "I feel badly for Theresa, I like her very much. She worked very hard, she’s very strong.

Mike Ashley has agreed to sell Newcastle for £350million, according to reports. The buyer it is claimed is the cousin of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour, Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan.
According to The Sun, contracts have already been signed and submitted to the Premier League between the two parties with Ashley ready to stand down after 12 years in charge on Tyneside.
India college fire kills at least 17 students
At least 17 students have died as a fire ripped through their classrooms in India, officials said. Students were seen jumping and falling from the building in the western city of Sura as black smoke billowed from windows.
Most of the victims were teenagers who had been studying at a tuition centre. The cause of the fire is not yet clear, but officials said the blaze spread through packed classrooms because of the material used in the roof.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino's apparent joke about where his team would stay in Madrid for the Champions League final appears to have backfired - and prompted Real Madrid to release an official statement.
The Argentine, who has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu in the past, was discussing Spurs' plans for the final against Liverpool at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on 1 June.
"Ahead of the final, we will train at Valdebebas [Real's training complex] and sleep in a nearby hotel," he told El Partidazo de Cope.

A bus passenger has been charged with murder after he slit the throat of a bus driver in Tampa, Florida. Justin McGriff was on a Hillsborough Area Regional Transit bus on Saturday afternoon when he began arguing with the driver. As Thomas Dunn, 46, drove the public bus down Nebraska Avenue during their argument, McGriff walked up to him brought out a sharp weapon and slashed Dunn's throat after telling him, "God bless you," twice.

A man reportedly died from a heart attack after allegedly attempting to strangle a female passenger in an air rage incident. He is also said to have threatened fellow passengers on the flight by saying: “If you want to live, put up your hands.

Facebook disables more than 2 billion fake accounts
Facebook on Thursday said it recently disabled billions of bogus accounts set up by "bad actors" and that five percent of active accounts are likely fakes. An estimate of how many of the online social networks accounts are fake and actions taken against the creation of more during the first three months of this year was disclosed in Facebook's latest report on enforcement activity.
