Police name man cannibal after partially eaten corpses of three murder victims were found with him

Police have seized a man they say is a 'cannibal' after the partially eaten corpses of three murder victims were found along with the body parts of dogs, cars and birds. Russia's Investigative Committee released a long statement saying the 51-year-old man killed three acquaintances with a knife after they fell asleep when he gave them alcohol.
They say he did this in order to eat them. He dismembered their bodies and partially consumed them before disposing of their remains in bags in ponds, claims the authority.
The statement says the men were discarded in a river channel and a lake in the district of the city of Arkhangelsk, in northern Russia.
The killings took place between March 2016 and March 2017, in various parts of the territory near the city.
The statement from the local authorities - translated from Russian - says: "In addition to cannibalism, the accused regularly killed and ate cats, dogs, and other small animals and birds, whose bone remains were found in packages along with human ones."
It goes on to assert that the man has been considered mentally healthy after a medical examination.
