In the village of Piplantri in Rajasthan, every time a girl child is born, 111 trees are planted in her honor and the community ensures that those trees survive, attaining fruition as the girls grow up.
This honorable initiative was started by the former village leader Shyam Sundar Paliwal to honor his daughter who passed away when she was young. Although Paliwal no longer serves as the village’s leader, the tradition has continued to blossom goodness within the village.
