White man wore blackface and fake beard as disguise before allegedly killing the mother of his child

A man accused of killing the mother of his 1-year-old daughter allegedly disguised himself by wearing blackface and fake beard before committing the crime. 33-year-old Andrew Charles Beard from Texas, surrendered himself to Carrollton police this week after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
According to the Carrollton Leader, Alyssa Burkett was reportedly shot and repeatedly stabbed in front of her workplace in Carrollton, Texas on Friday (Oct. 2). Her co-worker, who witnessed the incident through the office window, told cops she saw a man dressed in all black walk up to the driver’s side of Burkett’s car before he fired shots into the vehicle. The affidavit alleges dark liquid foundation and a fake beard with cosmetic glue were found in a car believed to belong to Beard who Police believe tried to shield his identity from security cameras and witnesses.
After learning there was a warrant out for his arrest, Andrew Charles Beard, a white man and the father of Burkett’s infant daughter, turned himself into cops on Monday.
During an investigation, authorities learned that Beard and Burkett had been involved in a bitter custody battle over their daughter after the mother was awarded custody of the child on Sept. 30, the Leader reports.
Her mother, boyfriend, and coworker told Police that she was scared of Beard and “believed that he was going to kill her.”
Her boyfriend added she believed he was following her as “he seemed to always know where she was.” Cops later found tracking devices on both Burkett and her boyfriend’s vehicles.
Beard is being held without bail at the Dallas County Jail where he faces murder charges.
