Mourinho delivers brilliant response to Mesut Ozil swipe at Tottenham

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has hit back at Mesut Ozil after the Arsenal playmaker fired a parting shot Spurs’ way as his exit nears.  Ozil, 32, has become a divisive figure during the latter stages of his tenure at the Emirates. Despite Mikel Arteta’s side recently struggling for creativity, Ozil was not brought back in from the cold.
With just six months remaining on his current deal, Ozil is expected to depart in the January transfer window. Fenerbahce are the current front runners, though MLS side DC United are also in the mix.
Ozil has become more vocal on social media in recent years, and recently hosted a Q&A for his followers. When quizzed on whether he would rather play for Tottenham or hang up his boots, the Express cite him as saying: “Easy question. Retire!”

Predictably, that jab did not go down well with Mourinho.
Speaking ahead of their Wednesday night clash with Fulham, the Portuguese firebrand retorted: “Who told him that Tottenham would be interested in signing him?”
The pair have endured a strained relationship at times, with Ozil previously detailing an incident in his autobiography at Real Madrid in which Mourinho questioned the star’s commitment and effort levels.
Mourinho interest confirmed in Brazilian transfer
Meanwhile, A Brazilian football expert has confirmed that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has a serious interest in Eder Militao.
Corriere dello Sport reported on Tuesday that Mourinho had asked Daniel Levy for just one January signing and that was centre-back Militao.
The Brazilian defender is not getting game time at the Bernabeu. He is behind Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and Nacho in the pecking order.
The player moved to the Bernabeu for a €50m fee in summer 2019. However, he has failed to establish himself under Zinedine Zidane and has made just two LaLiga appearances this season.
And now it seems the talk may well have substance with Sky Sports’ South American football expert Tim Vickery confirming Mourinho is keen on the 22-year-old.
