Tyson Fury's former opponent Tom Schwarz could be sent to jail for up to 10 years, with shock reports in Germany claiming the heavyweight boxer broke his ex-fiancee's jaw in three places.
Schwarz, 26, who was beaten inside two rounds by WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury back in June 2019, is now on trial for the alleged attack that happened in May 2020.
Schwarz has been accused of punching his former partner Tessa Schimschar in a restaurant car park in Germany, with German reports claiming she filed a charge for grievous body harm after being taken to a local hospital with horrendous injuries.
If he is found guilty in the trial, Schwarz faces up to 10 years behind bars.
Public prosecutor Thomas Kramer is quoted as saying: "During the dispute, [Schwarz] gave the woman a massive punch on the chin, which led to multiple fractures of the lower jaw."
“We reserve the right to take further measures. It is also important that we expressly distance ourselves from any form of violence!”
According to German newspaper Bild, Schwarz and his partner were together between 2016 and 2019 before breaking up.
Schwarz’s defeat against Fury was the first and only loss of his 27-fight professional career, with 24 victories coming before he was stopped by Fury in Las Vegas.
