Michael Jackson tops Forbes' list of highest-earning dead celebrities for the seventh year in a row (See full list)


Late Pop King, Michael Jackson, who died in 2009 of homicide involving a combination of drugs, has topped the Forbes' list of highest-earning dead celebrities for the seventh year in a row, raking in $60million since October 2018.  In the list published this week, Michael Jackson's music streams increased to 2.1 billion in the US, compared to 1.8 billion the year before. His Mijac Music catalog, Sony deal, and a Las Vegas show have also continued to contribute to his fortune.

Jamaican international female footballer, Tarania Clarke, killed in stabbing incident


Jamaica women's international, Tarania Clarke has been killed in a stabbing incident in the capital city, Kingston.  The 20-year-old footballer who recently represented Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz during the Olympic Caribbean qualifiers was stabbed to death in Kingston on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
 Police said the student died after a dispute over a mobile phone at about 8.50pm. The midfielder was pronounced dead in hospital.

Botswana swears in 58-year old Mokgweetsi Masisi as new president


Mokgweetsi Masisi has been sworn in as Botswana’s new president after the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) won the country’s parliamentary elections last week.   The mood was upbeat at the University of Botswana venue were about 3,000 guests attended the inauguration of the country’s fifth democratically elected president. The 58-year-old took the oath of office at the University of Botswana Indoor Sports Arena in the capital, Gaborone.

Sperm bank taken to court after mum who picked '6ft donor' gives birth to dwarf


A sperm bank's website has been blocked after a woman gave birth to a child with dwarfism.
The woman - a successful writer whose identity has not been disclosed - chose a father for her child from pictures of donors on the site. She and underwent successful IVF treatment at her private Moscow clinic after paying for his sperm. She was attracted by his fair-haired looks, higher education - and height of more than 6ft, according to reports in Russia. At more than 40-years-old she believed this was her last chance to have a child.

Lady tattoos "HIV+" on her private part to announce she has the virus (See Photos)


A lady has revealed she has HIV and she announced the sad news to his friends and family by inking "HIV+" on her private part. The lady identified as Katie K on Twitter with her handle @KatieKleinxo took to her page to share photos of her new tattoo and wrote: 'F**k it might as well get a tattoo now since I have the shit... recently found out I’m HIV positive sorry to everyone affected by this.'

Woman steals 4-month-old baby to cover up fake pregnancy


A Lagos resident identified as Falilat Olatunji who stole her benefactor's 4-month-old son at Iyana Lajola community of Mile Two in Ogun State's capital, Abeokuta, has been arrested following a search that was conducted after the mother of the baby Taiwo Bello raised an alarm.
 Taiwo was reportedly doing laundry within her apartment when Falilat sneaked into her room and stole her baby.  The suspect was arrested after the police who were alerted after a search in the community was unsuccessful, saw her with a baby that fitted the description at Ilewo Orile.

Mum gives birth to 13lb 'sumo-wrestler' baby girl - and she wasn't full term


A mum has given birth to a 'mini sumo wrestler' baby girl who weighs a staggering 13lb. Remi Frances Millar was welcomed into the world by her parents Emma and Daniel Millar at Wollongong Hospital, south of Sydney, on Monday via emergency caesarean, around two weeks early. Emma, 27, has gestational diabetes and was told by doctors she would be giving birth to a larger than average baby but was stunned at the whopping weight for her newborn.

Thai king fires royal guards for adultery


Thailand's king sacked 4 royal guards, two of them for "adultery," in a fresh wave of palace purges a week after his royal consort was stripped of all titles for "disloyalty."
Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 67, ordered the dismissal of two male guards from the "bedroom section", the Royal Gazette announced late Tuesday, October 29.
"They have committed inappropriate acts and adultery," the statement said.

Legendary actor John Witherspoon dies at 77


Actor-comedian John Witherspoon, who memorably played Ice Cube’s father in the “Friday” films, has died. He was 77. Witherspoon’s family issued a statement to the website Deadline saying that Witherspoon died Tuesday in Los Angeles. No cause of death was released.
The actor had a prolific career, co-starring in three “Friday” films, appearing on “The Wayans Bros.” television series and voicing the grandfather in “The Boondocks” animated series. His film roles included “Vampire in Brooklyn” and “Boomerang,” and he was a frequent guest on “Late Show with David Letterman.”

Sam Burgess announces retirement from rugby at 30


Sam Burgess has announced his immediate retirement in a heartfelt letter to fans. The dual-code star, 30, has been forced to call time because of an infection in his shoulder following surgery.
He said: "I have loved absolutely every minute; the highs, the lows; the grand final; coming home; my injuries; my dates with the judiciary. It really has been a fantastic ride.
"This decision was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make in my life, however the decision was out of my hands essentially.
"I am no longer able to be myself day in, day out on the training field and consequently the playing field. "I will not be playing in the NRL next season. My time has come to an end. I’m excited for my next chapter in life whatever that may be."

Delhi's air quality drops to 'emergency' category first time since January; Schools shut till Nov 5


The blanket of haze over Delhi thickened on Friday morning with the national capital's pollution levels increasing overnight by around 50 points, taking the overall air quality index to 459.
A Central Pollution Control Board official said the AQI entered the "severe plus" or "emergency" category late Thursday night, the first time since January this year. According to official data, the overall AQI was 582 at 12.30 am.

The first and only woman to serve as the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Sadako Ogata has died


Sadako Ogata, a former top United Nations official who was the first and only woman to serve as the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees and became known for donning a helmet and flak jacket on trips into the field, has died at the age of 92.
 Japanese government officials said Ogata died on October 22 but they only announced her death on Tuesday. They did not give the cause of her death.  Her tenure as U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees during the 1990s coincided with genocide in Rwanda and ethnic conflict in the former Yugoslavia. 
 “She stood on the front lines of humanitarian issues such as poverty, refugees and conflicts, where she demonstrated outstanding leadership. Her thinking, such as guaranteeing human security and emphasizing work in the field, is even now the basis for humanitarian aid efforts both in Japan and overseas” chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference.

Hong Kong falls into first recession in 10 years



Hong Kong slid into recession for the first time in a decade in the third quarter, weighed down by increasingly violent anti-government protests and the protracted U.S.-China trade war.
 Five months of protests have battered the Chinese-ruled city’s retail and tourism sector, and there is no sign of the demonstrations abating. Police tightened security on Thursday ahead of more potential clashes.
The city’s economy shrank 3.2% in July-September from the preceding period, contracting for a second straight quarter and meeting the technical definition of a recession, according to preliminary government data on Thursday.

Police name man cannibal after partially eaten corpses of three murder victims were found with him


Police have seized a man they say is a 'cannibal' after the partially eaten corpses of three murder victims were found along with the body parts of dogs, cars and birds. Russia's Investigative Committee released a long statement saying the 51-year-old man killed three acquaintances with a knife after they fell asleep when he gave them alcohol.
They say he did this in order to eat them. He dismembered their bodies and partially consumed them before disposing of their remains in bags in ponds, claims the authority.

Liverpool dump Arsenal out of Caraboa cup through penalties after thrilling 5-5 draw with Arsenal


Liverpool performed the 'mother of all upsets' as they twice came from behind to level with Arsenal in a thrilling 5-5 draw in the Carabao cup on Wednesday.  Both sides, playing with a lot of teenage players bamboozled each other's defences during the entirety of the match with star names Mo Salah, Saido Mane, Aubameyang and Xhaka all rested for the upcoming players.

Facebook and Instagram ban 'sexual' emoji including aubergine and peach


While the aubergine and peach emoji are used to represent foods by some innocent people, most known the sexual connotations associated with the characters. Now, Facebook and Instagram have banned these two emoji, as well as the water drip, for being too ‘sexually suggestive.’
The change is part of an update to Facebook’s Sexual Solicitation Community Standards , which are aimed at sex workers who use the platforms to sell their services.

How mom lost half of her body weight after her 3-year-old son fat shamed her


A mum who was called "fat" by her own son when she tipped the scales at 21st after giving birth has since shed almost half her body weight. Schauna Harshman, 35, grew up fleeing ashamed of her figure and was often teased by her peers at school, leaving her feeling like the "ugly, fat friend".
The mum-of-three gained weight during her pregnancies and ate a lot of fried food, processed meals, fast food and pasta, washing it down with soft drinks.

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr charged with unlawfully touching third woman


Actor Cuba Gooding Jr, already facing a criminal case over accusations he touched a woman's breasts in a bar and pinched another's buttocks in a nightclub, has been charged in connection with a third woman, his lawyer said on Wednesday.
Gooding is expected to appear in court Thursday and plead not guilty to the charges, according to his lawyer, Mark Heller.
The charges are not yet public, and a spokeswoman for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance declined to provide details. Heller said the charges stemming from the third accuser were "similar" to those involving the other two women, and that all are misdemeanors.

Taylor Swift set to beat Michael Jackson’s record of the most AMAs after Artist Of The Decade win


Taylor Swift looks set to smash Michael Jackson’s all-time record for the most AMA wins as it's confirmed she'll receive the coveted Artist Of The Decade award at this year’s ceremony. The 29-year-old has already picked up 23 American Music Awards during her career, with this award equaling the King of Pop’s tally of 24.
The announcement was made on the official AMA Twitter account, with the excited post reading: “She's won more #AMAs than anyone this decade… She's a five-time 2019 #AMAs nominee… AND she's performing at this year's #AMAs LIVE on Nov. 24… @taylorswift13 is our ARTIST OF THE DECADE”.
The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 24 on American network ABC, with Taylor taking to the stage to perform a medley of her biggest hits from the last decade.

Teen murders girlfriend and unborn baby after she refused abortion


A 16-year-old murdered his girlfriend and their unborn baby after she refused an abortion. Aaron Trejo plunged a knife into the heart of pregnant Breana Rouhselang, 17, after discovering she was six-months pregnant and passed the mark for a legal abortion.
Trejo admitted to police he had planned the murder for a week before launching his sick attack. He told police he stabbed her in the heart thinking it would kill her quickly, before dumping her body in a bin behind a restaurant in Mishawaka, Indiana.
