Cindy Sanchez Carabeo (C)HillsboroughCountySheriff'sDept. |
She robbed three Brandon, Fla., banks less than one mile apart during her hectic heist spree i.e. from the BB&T Bank on Brandon Blvd. and Wells Fargo on Kings Ave. to the Florida Central Credit Union on Oakfield Drive.
Carabeo, who was unemployed and in danger of losing her home, passed a note to tellers at each bank and walked away with more than $6,000, cops said.
"Should you not follow these instructions you will meet your maker," her note threatened. "Should you not do as I say I will not hesitate to SHOOT."
"By the time she made it home after that third robbery, within 15 minutes we had her in custody and all three bank managers were able to positively identify her," Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokesman Larry McKinnon said.
Carabeo pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of interfering with interstate commerce by robbery in federal court. She could face up to 20 years in prison.
