Female zoo keeper killed by Sumatran tiger

Samantha Kudeweh, 43, a zoo curator at the Hamilton Zoo, New Zealand, has been confirmed killed during a tiger attack at the zoo. Kudeweh who was said to have over 20 years experience was killed by a male Sumatran tiger called Oz, the Mirror reports.
Hamilton City Council chief executive Richard Briggs told reporters: "We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of a female Hamilton zoo staff member today after an attack by one of the zoo's Sumatran tigers this morning.
"We are working alongside New Zealand police, the Ministry of Primary Industries and Workplace Safety to investigate the circumstances of this incident which has led to one of our staff member's deaths."
The zoo, which is home to more than 600 native New Zealand and exotic animals, is due to be closed until Thursday.
