North Korean Kim Jong-un issues new threat, to re-unite with South
North Korean Leader, Kim Jong-un said nuclear missile launch button is ready on his desk at all time, so the United States “will never be able to start a war”.
He made this statement in a televised new year speech, saying that US was within of North Korean weapon, “This is not a threat, but a reality”.
The North leader also offers a potential olive branch to neighbouring South Korea, adding he was “ready to dialogue”.
“We – North Korea – may also send a team to the Winter Olympics in Seoul,” he added.
However, US President Donald Trump, in response to Mr Kim’s threats, said, “We’ll see, we’ll see”.
The President spoke to reporters at the sidelines of New Year’s Eve at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Meanwhile, North Korea has been under series of sanctions over the past year because of continuous testing of its conventional missiles and nuclear weapons programme.
The politically isolated state has so far carried out six underground nuclear tests, which the missiles increases in power.
In November 2017, Hwasong-15 was tested, which shook an area of about 4,475km (2,780 miles) – over 10 times the height of the International Space Station. The country boosted of having a fully deployable nuclear weapon, although some international scepticism about its true capacity to carry out such attack. Kim, in a televised speech, re-emphasized his focus on the weapons programme, unveiled plans of his country to produce nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles, as well as to speed up their deployment

“2018 is a significant year for the North and the South to re-unite, with the South hosting Winter Olympics and the North celebrating 70th year anniversary of its birth.”
He said Delegates will be sent to the Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea – a gesture that South Korea has previously suggested it would welcome.
