Man who sexually assaulted his friend’s 4-year-old sister told police he thought she was 18

A young man was seen in a mugshot with scratches all over his face after being arrested for sexually abusing a child. 22-year-old Conrad Pritchard of England was out drinking with three friends at a pub in Salford. At around 1:00 a.m., they left the pub. Pritchard went to spend the night at the home of one of his friends. At the home, the group of friends continued to drink until the early hours of the morning when Pritchard went upstairs to the bedrooms.
A short time later, the woman who lived on the property heard her 4-year-old daughter crying. The woman went to check on her daughter and found Pritchard naked from the waist down and lying next to the girl pretending to be asleep. When Pritchard ran out of the room, the girl told her mother that she was sexually assaulted. Pritchard was found hiding under a bed in another room and police were called.
Detective Paul Davies of Greater Manchester said that during an interview with the police, Pritchard said that he thought the girl was actually the 18-year-old babysitter. However, police and the judge did not accept his excuse and he was convicted of sexual assault of a child under 13. Pritchard was sentenced at Manchester Crown Square to 32 months in prison.
