FALLEN comedy icon Bill Cosby is facing financial ruin before he sets foot in a cell, it was revealed yesterday. The sex fiend, 80, worth £200million, faces huge legal bills for his criminal case. And his conviction on three counts of sexual assault has paved the way for women to sue him.
More than 60 accuse him of drugging and raping them, but most of these claims are out of date under US law. Now many aim to pursue him in civil actions, where there are no such time limits. Gloria Allred, who represents 33 of them, praised the jury. Cosby faces 30 years behind bars after being found guilty of the attacks against Andrea Constand. He faces sentencing next month.
Cosby plans to appeal but an LA source said: “His bill for the past couple of years alone is already in tens of millions.
"He could remain free for years while his attorneys exhaust the appeals process in the criminal case and fight every civil action.
“But with no income – and some of the most expensive lawyers in the US – the irony is that keeping himself out of prison could easily cost him every cent he has left.”
