Madonna’s steamy love letter to female model up for auction

Madonna was crushing hard on the model she famously kissed in her 1990 "Justify My Love" video, and professed it in a love letter... which could be yours, but not for cheap.
The Material Girl sent the handwritten letter to Amanda Cazalet in 1991, not long after the 2 worked together on the sexy music vid. She starts with a joke about not being able to get in touch with Amanda, saying it's like "trying to seduce the pope."

 Former "Game of Thrones" co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie married Saturday with a church service and a celebration at the bride's ancestral castle in Scotland. The couple and guests arrived for the afternoon service at Rayne Church, close to the 900-year-old Wardhill Castle in northeast Scotland, which is owned by Leslie's family.

White House deputy chief of staff to resign: White House officials


White House deputy chief of staff Joe Hagin, who led the U.S. advance team for President Donald Trump’s summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore, is resigning, White House officials said on Tuesday. Hagin, who plans to return to the private sector after entertaining a couple of jobs in other government agencies, is stepping down on July 6, the officials said.
“Joe Hagin has been a huge asset to my administration. He planned and executed the longest and one of the most historic foreign trips ever made by a president, and he did it all perfectly. We will miss him in the office and even more on the road. I am thankful for his remarkable service to our great country,” Trump said in a statement.

Oprah Winfrey is the first black woman to be listed in Bloomberg's Top 500 Richest People in the world. Now worth $4billion.


Media mogul Oprah Winfrey, 64, is the first black woman to be listed in Bloomberg's Top 500 richest people in the world list, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Oprah comes in at number 483 with a networth of $4.02 billion. Since January 1st 2018, her networth has grown by over $420million.
 Her latest boost in wealth comes thanks primarily to her investment in Weight Watchers. In 2015, Winfrey put $43 million in the company and got a 10 percent stake. It was the company's recent stock rally on June 12, which sent share prices to record highs, that tipped Winfrey's wealth over $4 billion.
 She also recently announced a multiyear content deal with Apple reportedly worth $1billion.

Uruguay booked their place in the World Cup knockout stage along with Russia on Wednesday, as Luis Suarez scored the winner on his 100th international appearance in a 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in Rostov-on-Don. The South Americans take on the hosts in their final Group A match on June 25 with top spot on the line, while Egypt and Saudi Arabia have been eliminated after both suffered back-to-back defeats.
Russia and Uruguay will face one of the top two from Group B in the last 16 - either Portugal, Spain or Iran.

Judge finally separates Mary J. Blige & husband


Mary J. Blige is officially a single woman. A judge signed off Wednesday on her divorce from Martin Isaacs. The exes had reached a settlement back in March, but hadn't hammered out details of their assets split.
They've now worked out the specifics but they're keeping it all under wraps. The terms are confidential it’s been reported. It's however unclear if Martin got his wish list which included $130k per month in spousal support. Mary and Martin got married in 2003. They do not have any kids together.

President Donald Trump‘s “zero tolerance” immigration policy that separates toddlers from their parents and put them in detention camps recently caused a global outrage. The policy which has now been reviewed saw wide-spread criticism, with several celebrities and public figures, including the first lady Melania Trump, singer John Legend and wife, Chrissy Teigen pushing for its removal.

Rats blamed for shredded banknotes inside Indian ATM


Technicians who arrived to fix a malfunctioning cash machine in the Indian state of Assam got a shock when they opened it up. Notes worth more than 1.2m rupees (£13,300; $17,600) had been shredded - and the suspected culprits are rats. Police said the rodents probably entered the machine through a hole for wiring, the Hindustan Times reported.

Chinese park grants free entry to heavier women


A theme park in northern China offered free entry tickets this week to women if they weighed over nine and a half stone (61.8kg), it's reported. According to the China Daily newspaper, the Tang Paradise park in the northern city of Xi'an granted hundreds of women free entry from 15-19 June if they were heavier than a Tang Dynasty imperial concubine.

Mom allegedly shoots son following an argument, says "I'll be damned if I let him have the last word"


A mother is in custody after allegedly shooting at her son following an argument on Saturday and saying, according to one witness, "I’ll be damned if I let him have the last word."
66-year-old Priscilla Ann Ethridge, of Panama City Beach, Florida, has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. Ethridge lives with her 46-year-old son and, on Saturday night, they both got into an argument at home. During the argument, the son stormed out of the house and rode away on his bicycle.

Laborer who demanded his pay dies, after three nails were hammered into his head


Robert Muchangi, a 28-year-old laborer from Meru County, Kenya, reportedly died on Wednesday at the Kenyatta National Hospital’s intensive care unit, where he was admitted an attack in Meru. The doctors  managed to pull the four-inch nails out of his head but he was still in critical condition on Monday. According to Standard media, Muchangi, a bricklayer, was attacked in Kabuitu, last Wednesday, by a man suspected to have offered him a building job at his home.

Koko, the gorilla who mastered sign language, dead at 46


Koko, the gorilla who mastered sign language, has died. The Gorilla Foundation says the 46-year-old western lowland gorilla died in her sleep at the foundation's preserve in California's Santa Cruz mountains on Tuesday.
Koko was born at the San Francisco Zoo in 1971, and Dr. Francine Patterson began teaching the gorilla sign language that became part of a Stanford University project in 1974. The foundation says Koko's capacity for language and empathy opened the minds and hearts of millions.

Akon is launching his own cryptocurrency ‘Akoin’ to help African economy


Senegal-born star Akon — whose Lighting Africa project is bringing solar power to Africa — is at Cannes Lions launching a new cryptocurrency called Akoin that will be available for sale in two weeks with hopes it will help further help the continent.
“I think that blockchain and crypto could be the savior for Africa in many ways because it brings the power back to the people and brings the security back into the currency system and also allows the people to utilize it in ways where they can advance themselves and not allow government to do those things that are keeping them down,” he explained during a Meredith sponsored panel moderated by People deputy editor JD Heyman.

Manchester United sign Brazilian star Fred in £52m deal from Shakhtar Donetsk


Manchester United has completed the signing of Brazilian star Fred in a £52million deal from Shakhtar Donetsk. The 25-year-old was unveiled on Thursday afternoon after he signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford with the option to extend it by a further year.
Reacting to the latest addition to his squad, United boss Jose Mourinho praised the deal by saying his 'creative brain and passing vision' were the primary reasons behind his signing.

Instagram announces new IGTV app for long-form content


Facebook owned social network, Instagram launched a mobile app on Wednesday called IGTV dedicated to user-generated videos up to an hour long, intensifying the competition for consumers’ time among ad-supported streaming services such as YouTube. The service plans to feature videos from rising internet celebrities, artists and pets, some of whom have tens of millions of social media followers.

US withdraws from UN Human Rights Council


The United States has withdrawn from the United Nations' top human rights body accusing it of "chronic bias" against Israel, in a move that was criticised by human rights groups and described as regrettable by foreign leaders. The decision to pull out of the UN Human Rights Council was announced on Tuesday by Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the UN.

President Trump bows to pressure, signs executive order to stop family separations at the US-Mexico border


President Trump finally bowed to pressure and signed an executive order on Wednesday to prevent undocumented immigrant families from being separated at the US-Mexico border. The development, however, contradicts repeated claims from top administration officials that only Congress could act to end the separations.

Eva Longoria, 43, and her husband Jose Baston have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Santiago Enrique Baston. Santiago was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and weighed in at 6 lbs and 13 oz. Announcing the arrival, Eva revealed that her son arrived on Tuesday and is a beautiful blessing.

Ecuador, Nigeria to sign visa-free agreement


The Ecuadorian Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. Deopoldo Rovayo, has disclosed that his country and Nigeria have agreed to sign a visa-free agreement to strengthen bilateral relations. Rovavo made the announcement in Abuja on Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Olukunle Bamgbose.
