Mason Mount named 2020-21 Chelsea Player of the Year

 


 Mason Mount has been announced as Chelsea's Player of the Year for the 2020/21 campaign by the fans.
 The 22-year-old England international was confirmed as the winner of the Player of the Year award on Tuesday morning, May 18, making him the first Chelsea academy graduate to win the award since John Terry in 2006.
 Mount has already reached 100 senior appearances for the club in less than two seasons at the club, an incredible achievement for an academy graduate.

Roy Hodgson step-downs as Crystal Palace manager at the age of 73 to spend more time with his wife and family

 


Premier League side, Crystal Palace have confirmed that Roy Hodgson will be leaving the club at the end of the season. The 73-year-old, who was brought in by Palace in 2017 to replace the struggles, Frank de Boer, as manager, says he feels the time is right to step away from 'the rigours of top-flight Premier League football' and bring to an end his 'responsibilities of being a full-time manager.
 His final match in charge will be against his former employers Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, May 23.
 Commenting on his impending departure, Hodgson said: 'After more than 45 years of coaching I have decided that the time is right for me to step away from the rigours of top-flight Premier League football, so our final two matches will be my last ones as manager of Crystal Palace.

Juventus unveil Massimiliano Allegri as new coach hours after sacking Andrea Pirlo

 

 
Italian football club, Juventus have unveiled Massimiliano Allegri as its new manager after sacking Andrea Pirlo on Friday, May 28. Pirlo, 42, (pictured below) endured a difficult 2020-21 season where his team lost the league, crashed out of the champions league last 16 and struggled to qualify for next seasons UEFA Champions League.
 Pirlo only took over from Maurizio Sarri last summer but managed to get his hands on two trophies, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana in his only season at Juventus.
Allegri - who won five straight league crowns between 2015 and 2019 at Juventus is now back. He has signed a four-year contract worth £8million per year.

 Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson Moraes has won the Premier League Golden Glove for the second year in a row. The 27-year-old Brazilian retained his award for the most clean-sheets,  having kept 18 clean sheets, made 63 saves, had 1,198 touches of the ball and played over 900 passes in Manchester City’s 37 League matches so far this season.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s 76th-minute goal for Leicester City against Chelsea on Tuesday night, May 18, confirmed Ederson’s latest accolade.  His nearest challenger was Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy, who can now only achieve a total of 17 clean sheets.
In winning the award, Ederson has also become the first goalkeeper to win back-to-back Golden Glove awards since Joe Hart between 2010 and 2013.

France’s reigning champion jockey, Pierre-Charles Boudot has been charged with rape and intimidating a witness by French prosecutors. The charges relate to an incident at a party at Cagnes-sur-Mer in the south of France, on February 17.
 The three-time French champion jockey who won the 2019 Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe on Waldgeist, faces a charge of failing to report a crime in connection with the same allegations, while an unnamed individual was also listed, along with Bazire, as a “witness to intimidation of a witness”.
On February 19 a young female work-rider reported to police in Cagnes-sur-Mer evidence that suggested she had been raped during the night of February 17 and 18 by a jockey whose identity was subsequently revealed by the press to be Pierre-Charles Boudot," prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier said about the alleged incident.

U.S. says fully vaccinated Americans can return to life without masks

 

 The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States has announced that fully vaccinated Americans can return to life without masks in a major step toward returning to pre-life. CDC Director, Rochelle Walensky made the announcement at a White House briefing Thursday, May 13.
 "If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic," Walensky said, announcing the sweeping change. "Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing."

Cristiano Ronaldo has fulled speculation regarding a possible summer exit from Juventus, after having his seven supercars transported away from his luxury home in Turin, Italy.
 Footage has emerged online of Ronaldo's multi-million-pound vehicles being loaded onto a truck of a well-known Portuguese moving company headed to Lisbon, Portugal.
 Italian publication, Tuttosport published the video posted online by Per Semper Calcio, in which a group of men could be seen loading the cars onto a Rodo Cargo haulage vehicle.
 The operation was carried out at 3 o'clock in the morning away from prying eyes. The Portuguese superstar could leave Juventus a year earlier than the end of his contract, which is set to expire in June 2022.

Remains of more than 200 children found at Indigenous school in Canada

 

 The remains of 215 children, some as young as 3 years old, have been found buried on the site of what was once Canada's largest Indigenous residential school — one of the institutions that held children taken from families across the nation.
Chief Rosanne Casimir of the Tk’emlups te Secwépemc First Nation said in a news release that the remains were confirmed last weekend with the help of ground-penetrating radar.
More bodies may be found because there are more areas to search on the school grounds, Casimir said Friday.
In an earlier release, she called the discovery an “unthinkable loss that was spoken about but never documented at the Kamloops Indian Residential School.” It was the once the site of Canada’s largest residential school.

Ellen DeGeneres to end her talk show amid 'bullying' allegations

 

 
Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly set to end her eponymous talk show after 18 seasons, following accusations that she allowed a toxic work environment. After 18 seasons on air and huge ratings, the talk-show host is expected to make an announcement explaining why she’s pulling the plug today, May 12, according to The Daily Mail.
 The publication have said that a source told them it’s because Ellen "has had enough and told her team that she’s done".
 The insider said: "She's promised one more season after this one and will exit at the end of the 2021/2022 season.  This comes as several former and current employees of The Ellen Show accused the 63-year-old host of ignoring "bullying" by executives.
 The employees in question also accused the star of fostering a "toxic" work environment in general.
 Ellen had apologized following the accusations.

At least 109 Palestinians and seven people in Israel have been killed since fighting between Israel's military and Hamas began Monday, May 10.
In a week that has seen the worst inter-communal violence in Israel since the start of the Second Intifada in 2000, Israel began massing land troops on its border with Gaza on Thursday May 13, launching attacks from the air and ground while Hamas continued to fire rockets into Israel.

Train firm apologises to ‘non-binary’ passenger after he took offence at conductor’s ‘ladies and gentlemen’ announcement

 

 A train company has apologised for not being inclusive after a conductor welcomed passengers on board by saying, "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls".
 The London North Eastern Railway (LNER) issued an apology after passenger Laurence Coles complained that they neither identify as male nor female.
 Coles took to Twitter to complain about the announcement, writing: "'Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…' so as a non-binary person this announcement doesn’t actually apply to me so I won’t listen".
 Laurence’s friend Charlotte Monroe, 28, also contacted the company, saying: "I was sat with Laurence when this tweet was sent. Both of us are non-binary, and we were both alarmed and uncomfortable by the lack of inclusion."

Thieves steal 6ft bronze crucifix worth £20,000 from church garden of remembrance for the dead

 

 
A six-foot bronze crucifix worth £20,000 has been stolen from a church garden of remembrance in Newcastle. According to Daily Mail, thieves took the sculpture from a garden where mourners scattered the ashes of their loved ones outside All Saints Church in Gosforth, Newcastle.   The crucifix, which was erected in the church's remembrance garden in 1965, was stolen overnight on Thursday, May 13, the report said.
Confirming the incident, Neighbourhood Inspector Harninder Bola, of Northumbria Police said: 'This is a highly sentimental piece of the remembrance garden at All Saints and the church and its congregation are understandably devastated.

US rapper J Cole set to play in Basketball Africa League


American rapper J Cole is set to play professional basketball for Rwandan side Patriots BBC. The team will play Nigeria's Rivers Hoopers on Sunday, opening the first ever Basketball Africa League (BAL). Rumours of the signing began when the musician, whose full name is Jermaine Lamarr Cole, was seen in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, at the weekend.The team's coach, Alan Major, then confirmed the news to state broadcaster Rwanda TV on Monday.

According to sports news site The Undefeated, Cole arrived in Kigali on Saturday and is currently in quarantine ahead of Sunday's game.

7 students and teacher killed in Russian school shooting

 

A shooting at a high school in the central Russian city of Kazan on Tuesday May 11, has left 7 students mostly children and a teacher dead. The attack happened 820km (510 miles) east of Moscow, in the mainly Muslim republic of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of Tatarstan republic where Kazan is the capital, said that four male and three female eighth-grade students died in the shooting. Minnikhanov’s press service later added that a teacher was also killed.
 More than 20 others, mostly children were reportedly wounded. A 19-year-old suspect was detained. Minnikhanov said;
 “The terrorist has been arrested, (he is) 19 years old. A firearm is registered in his name. Other accomplices haven’t been established, an investigation is underway."

Fantastic Beasts actor, Kevin Guthrie bags 3 years in jail for s3xually assaulting a vulnerable actress

 


Scottish actor, Kevin Guthrie, who played Abernathy in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, has been sentenced to three years in prison for sexually assaulting a vulnerable actress when she was unwell after a night out. The Glaswegian actor, 33, was found guilty last month of sexually assaulting the unidentified actress in September 2017, in what the judge branded a ‘heinous crime’.
Kevin took advantage of a 29-year-old woman inside the flat of fellow actor Scott Reid in Glasgow between September 30 and October 1, 2017.
The actor, who also appeared in Sunshine on Leith, insisted he had only 'helped' the woman after she began to feel unwell but his DNA was found inside her underwear.

Multi-Platinum songwriter, J. Wright arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend

 


Multiplatinum songwriter, J. Wright has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend on Mother's Day. Police in Davenport, Iowa, responded to a call about a disturbance in a home on Sunday afternoon, May 9. When they arrived shortly after 1:30 pm., they found 20-year-old Wilanna Bibbs had been shot. According to OurQuadCities.com, NBC news affiliate, paramedics pronounced Bibbs dead at the scene.
 In a statement, Police said they arrested Justin L. Wright, a prominent 31-year-old songwriter, who was dating the victim. It's unclear how long they had been together.
 Wright has been charged with first-degree murder. He is being held on $500,000 cash bond

 Tom Cruise has returned all three of his Golden Globe trophies after NBC canceled the HFPA's award broadcast for 2022 amid an outcry over lack of diversity. The Mission Impossible star, 58, won Best Actor for Jerry Maguire in 1997, Best Actor for Born on the Fourth of July in 1990, and Best Supporting Actor for his role in Magnolia in 2000.
 According to reports from Deadline, the action star has given back the three awards that he was given by the organisation because of its failure to reform its lack of diversity.
 Tom is the latest in a growing list of actors and companies, including Netflix, Amazon, and NBC, that are protesting the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.   

Facebook reveals date Trump ban might be overturned after receiving over 9000 complaints

 


 Facebook has revealed when its long-anticipated decision on the fate of former President Trump's Facebook account will be announced. The company suspended Trump's account on Facebook and Instagram following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots in a bid to overturn the 2020 election results. Twitter and YouTube also suspended the former President citing an ongoing risk of violence and incitement.
"We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great," Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote at the time.
On Monday, May 3, Facebook said that its Oversight Board will announce its long-anticipated decision on the fate of former President Trump's Facebook account at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

Sierra Leone government moves to abolish death penalty

 

 Sierra Leone's government will move to abolish the death penalty in the West African state, deputy justice minister Umaru Napoleon Koroma said on Wednesday.
No execution has taken place in the country since 1998, and death penalties are often commuted.
Sierra Leone, which is still recovering after decades of civil war, has frequently come under fire from rights groups for keeping capital punishment on the books.
"Once the legislation goes to parliament and gets approved, that ends the story of the death penalty," Koroma told AFP.

Juventus are threatened with expulsion from Serie A if they don't leave the Super League

 

 
Italian soccer federation president, Gabriele Gravina has said Juventus faces expulsion from the country’s top league if they do not withdraw from the European Super League. While AC Milan and Inter Milan have already pulled out of the controversial bid to form a breakaway competition, Juventus remains the only Italian club still pushing for the move.
 'The rules are clear. If Juventus is still part of the Super League when it enters next season, it can't participate in Serie A,' Gravina told Naples radio station Kiss Kiss.
 'I would be sorry for the fans but rules are rules and they apply to everyone.'
 Real Madrid and Barcelona are also still holding onto the project, despite the risk of being banned from the Champions League.

German police have arrested the culprits behind child pornsite BOYSTOWN which
had 400,000 members who used it to exchange extreme sexual abuse materials of minors. Investigators spent months investigating the site and those behind it, before arresting three main suspects along with a fourth man in raids last month.
The site which was accessible only on the Darknet was run by three main suspects - aged 40, 49 and 58 The Fourth suspect aged 64, was also arrested and accused of being one of the main contributors after uploading more than 3,500 videos and images
The site has existed since July 2019 and was used for the worldwide exchange of child porn especially boys.

NBC will not air the next Golden Globes after diversity controversy

 


The Golden Globes will not be airing on NBC next year, temporarily ending a decades-long relationship between the network and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the nonprofit responsible for the awards.
The network announced that it would not carry the show in 2022 after controversy surrounding the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's lack of diversity and ethical questions related to financial benefits given to some members, such as a hotel stay in connection with an "Emily in Paris" junket.
Those revelations, first reported by the Los Angeles Times, have prompted several major outlets, including Netflix (NFLX) and WarnerMedia, CNN's parent company, to announce that they would not participate in any Globes-related events until the issues had been adequately addressed.

 "We had people waiting before we even got here," Desai said, adding that cars began lining up around 6:30 a.m.

Israel is on the brink of "full scale war," the UN has warned, after escalating violence in the region claimed at least 35 lives. Israel has deployed 80 fighter jets, tankers and foot soldiers to its Gaza border after Hamas fired around 130 rockets at targets in Israel on Tuesday May 11, following the destruction of a tower block in Gaza in an Israeli air strike.
Israel has also declared a state of Emergency in the city of Lod as three synagogues, numerous shops and dozens of cars were set alight as Israelis and Palestinians clashed following bomb attacks from Hamas. Throughout Tuesday May 11, continuous bombing by Israeli jets occurred in different parts of Gaza. Gaza’s police headquarters was also destroyed by air strikes from Israel, in what appeared to be some of the most intense fight between Israel and Hamas since their 2014 war.

Former Zimbabwean First Lady, Grace Mugabe has been summoned by traditional ruler Chief Zvimba, to explain why she "improperly" buried her husband and former President Robert Mugabe at his rural home in Zvimba. Mugade died in Singapore in September 2019. However after a protracted wrangle between his family and the government, he was finally buried at his home village in Kutama, Zvimba in Mashonaland West.
 The government had wanted to bury Mugabe at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, but his family turned down the offer, arguing that Mugabe had made it explicitly clear that he did not wish to be interred at the national shrine. He is reported to have been bitter at the way he was ousted in the November 2017 military intervention. Grace has now been accused of committing a taboo by burying the deceased Robert Gabriel Mugabe in a house which is a violation of the culture of the Zvimba people.

More than 40 attorneys general urge Facebook to stop plans for an Instagram for kids

 


Facebook's plans to launch a version of Instagram for children under the age of 13 continues to get backlash. On Monday, 44 attorneys general signed a letter addressed to Facebook (FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg, urging him to scrap plans for an Instagram intended for younger users, citing mental health and privacy concerns. The letter comes less than a month after child safety groups and Congress expressed similar concerns.

Covid cases at Everest base camp raise fears of serious outbreak

 

 Mountaineers and authorities at Everest base camp in Nepal have told the BBC they are seeing rising numbers of climbers with Covid-19 symptoms and rising numbers of positive tests, raising fears of a serious outbreak.
Base camp officials said they had received reports of 17 confirmed cases from hospitals in the capital Kathmandu, where a number of climbers have been sent from the base camp and higher camps to be treated.
And staff at a private hospital in Kathmandu, the CIWEC clinic, confirmed to the BBC that patients had tested positive for coronavirus after arriving from Everest base camp.

 After months of being suspended from several social media platforms, former President Donald Trump has launched his own personal media website.
Titled From The Desk of Donald J Trump, the platform appears on the website: www.DonaldJTrump.com/desk.
It features short essay-like posts and videos, as well as links by which website users can share their posts to social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
In a video posted on the platform, Tuesday night, the new communication site is described as “A beacon of freedom, A place to speak freely and safely,”.

Report: EPL to fine Big 6 for Super League involvement

 


The Premier League will impose substantial fines on the six sides that were involved in the breakaway European Super League, The Telegraph's Sam Wallace reports.
Though the amount is unclear, it's reportedly enough to have an effect on the rebel clubs.
However, the teams won't face points deductions, according to Wallace. The Premier League reserves such punishment only for clubs that file for bankruptcy, as Portsmouth did in the 2009-10 season.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham agreed to join the European Super League in mid-April, only to withdraw two days later amid intense backlash from fans, former players, and politicians.

Mohamed Nasheed: Maldives ex-president in critical condition after bomb blast

 


Former Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed is in a critical condition following a bomb attack. A British national was among four others injured in the blast, which is being treated as a terrorist incident. No-one has claimed the attack. Australian police are travelling to the Maldives to help investigate.
Mr Nasheed was elected in 2008 but ousted in a coup four years later. He is now speaker of parliament - the nation's second-most powerful position. The Indian Ocean nation is known for its luxury holiday resorts, but has also faced political unrest and Islamist militant violence.
Mr Nasheed, 53, has been an outspoken critic of hardline Islamists.
President Ibrahim Solih described the explosion outside Mr Nasheed's home on Thursday night as "an attack on Maldives' democracy and economy".

Lung surgeon sets himself on fire after contracting Covid and infecting family

 

 A top lung surgeon who came out of retirement to fight the pandemic has set himself on fire after feeling guilty for giving Covid to his entire family, according to reports. Russian Dr Nikolai Shinkarenko, 70, felt "guilty" about having made his relatives sick with the virus, heartbroken friends and colleagues said.

 Liverpool’s billionaire owner and president of Fenway Sports Group, John Henry has reportedly rejected an astonishing offer of £3billion to sell the club. According to a new report, a bid from the Middle East was submitted to owner, John Henry, before news broke early this week of the club’s involvement in the failed European Super League. According to the Mirror, John Henry rejected the bid.
Liverpool's US owner John W. Henry and his company Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are under pressure to sell the club after supporters protested against the owners this week following the clubs involvement in the highly criticized European super league.

Uganda passes law against human sacrifice

 


Uganda’s parliament has passed a bill criminalising human sacrifice and prescribing life sentences on conviction for related offences. Until now, the country’s laws did not provide for the crime of human sacrifice and such wrongdoing have over the years been prosecuted as murder or other offences.
The legislation - the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifices Bill 2020 - proposes a death sentence for any person convicted of committing human sacrifice or financing the practice.
It also criminalises the possession of human parts, their use in medicine for sale or personal use. A person convicted for the offence faces life imprisonment.
Any person who spreads belief in human sacrifice for financial gain, encourages anyone to use a human body in any ritual, on conviction will also receive a life sentence.

Concern as Lake Malawi water turns green

 

Malawians have expressed concern after the water in Lake Malawi turned green in a rare phenomenon. The fisheries department has warned fishermen against fishing in the lake saying it could be harmful.
Forestry and Natural Resources Minister Nancy Tembo has explained that the greening was as a result of a bloom in toxic algae that occurred after heavy rains and wind mixed up the nutrients found at the bottom of the lake.
Ms Tembo said the lake had become eutrophic - a condition where aquatic life begin to die off as oxygen levels reduce - and warned people to stay away and give the green water two weeks to fade away.

Egypt court rejects bid for Suez Canal ship release

 

 
A court in Egypt has ruled that the Ever Given - the massive container vessel that blocked the Suez Canal in March - will continue to be held as a dispute over compensation shows no sign of being resolved. The grounding of the Ever Given for six days in March captured the world's attention, but the story is far from over. The Suez Canal Authority is seeking almost $1bn (£720m) in compensation from the Japanese owner of the vessel.
The ship is currently impounded in a lake between two stretches of the canal. An appeal by the owner for the vessel to be released has been rejected for now.
The Canal Authority has yet to publish the findings of its investigation into the cause of the incident.
It took almost a week for specialist rescue teams to dislodge the Ever Given - as much of the world online offered unwanted advice - but returning it to the freedom of the high seas may take a lot longer.

Algerian doctor jailed for insulting president

 

A member of the Hirak protest movement in Algeria has been sentenced to two years in prison for offending Islam and insulting the president. Activists say that Amira Bouraoui has not been detained while she awaits an appeal against the sentence.
A gynaecologist and mother of two, Ms Bouraoui served a short prison sentence last year but was provisionally released last June.
At least 70 people are reported to be currently held in jail in Algeria in connection with the mass protests against the authorities which unseated the former president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, or other cases related to freedom of expression.
 

Malian woman gives birth to nine babies

 

 


A Malian woman has given birth to nine babies, in what would be an extremely rare case.
Halima Cisse, 25, gave birth on Tuesday to five girls and four boys in a Moroccan hospital where she had been admitted, the Malian Health Minister Fanta Siby said in a statement. The deliveries were done through Caesarean section.
Ms Cisse had been expected to give birth to seven babies based on the ultrasound scans done in Mali and Morocco that apparently did not detect the two extra babies.
On Tuesday, Dr Siby said the newborns and the mother “are all doing well”. They are expected to return home in several weeks’ time.

Late Zulu King’s widow dies less than two months after husband’s demise

 


Regent of the Zulu nation and wife of South Africa’s recently deceased Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini, Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu has reportedly passed on. Mangosuthu Buthelezi, traditional prime minister to the Zulu monarch who did not mention the cause of her death said she died "unexpectedly" on Thursday April 29.
 The statement read;
 “It is with the deepest shock and distress that the Royal Family announces the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, Regent of the Zulu Nation.
“This has taken us by surprise and left us utterly bereft,” he added without mentioning the cause of death."

Manchester United chief, Ed Woodward finally apologises to fans of the club over the European Super League debacle

 

Manchester United chief, Ed Woodward, has apologised to fans for his role in the European Super League and told them the club no longer has plans to go ahead with the breakaway competition. 
This comes days after United chairman Joel Glazer apologised to supporters following the ESL's collapse, and Woodward, who is stepping down from his position has now apologised.
 It comes ahead of planned protests at Old Trafford before Sunday's match against Liverpool.
 Speaking at fans' forum on Friday morning to discuss the doomed ESL breakaway, Ed Woodward said: 'I know that you will feel angry and let down by the lack of consultation and by the way the proposal failed to recognise the vital principle of open competition. Proper discussion would have helped us avoid the mistake we made.

Premier League clubs expecting up to 500 away fans to return to stadiums for the last two games of the season

 


 Premier League clubs have reportedly been told to prepare for up to 500 away fans for the last two rounds of matches this season. According to Sportsmail, the Public Health England signed off on the principle of away fans at fixtures this term, on Thursday, April 29.  The news marks a victory for the Premier League, which has been working to secure the green light to have fans back in stadiums after a ban because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Under the government's roadmap out of lockdown, clubs are already preparing to allow up to 10,000 fans to return to stadiums - or 25 percent of the capacity.

Bill Gates, one of the world’s richest men has been removed from Bloomberg's billionaire list after news of his divorce from Melinda Gates. The business platform took the action shortly after news of Gates divorce to his wife of 27 years went viral.
 Before being taken off the list, Gates was fourth on the index with a net worth of $145 billion, having gained over $13 billion in 2021 alone.

Anne Buydens Douglas, widow of late actor Kirk Douglas, dies at 102

 

 Anne Douglas, the widow of Kirk Douglas and stepmother of Michael Douglas has died at the age of 102.  Douglas died at her home on Thursday, April 30, in Beverly Hills, according to an obituary provided by spokeswoman Marcia Newberger. No cause of death was given.
 Her death comes more than a year after her husband Kirk, who was known for "Spartacus," "Lust for Life" and other iconic films died on Feb. 5, 2020. He was 103.
 The couple, who both met in Paris while he was filming “Act of Love” and she was doing publicity, were married for more than 65 years after tying the knot in May 1954.
