Man.United striker, Mason Greenwood has his bail extended until the summer as police continue to probe rape and sexual assault allegations

 


Manchester United striker, Mason Greenwood has had his bail extended until mid-June over allegations he raped and assaulted a young woman. The 20-year-old Manchester United footballer was arrested in January after images and videos were posted online. He was also questioned on suspicion of making threats to kill.
 Greenwood was released on conditional bail which was due to expire on Saturday, April 30.
 In an update on the investigation, Greater Manchester Police said: 'We are continuing to investigate a report made to us on Sunday 30 January of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.

Mohamed Salah named FWA Footballer of the Year for 2021/22

 


Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers' Association Men's Footballer of the Year for 2021/22.
 Salah, 29, has scored an impressive 22 goals and 13 assists in just 31 Premier League games to help propel Jurgen Klopp's side to second in the table, just a point behind champions Man City with five games left this season.
In total, the Egypt international has been involved in 30 goals and 14 assists in only 44 matches in all competitions.

Russia is trying to blackmail Europe with gas supply - EU says after Russia stops energy supply to Poland and Bulgaria

 

The European Union has accused Russia of 'blackmail' after Russia stopped the sale of gas to Poland and Bulgaria. Russian energy giant, Gazprom (GAZP.MM) on Wednesday, April 27, said it had cut supplies to Poland and Bulgaria for failing to pay for gas in roubles (Russia's currency), Moscow's toughest response yet to sanctions imposed by the West over the conflict in Ukraine.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the bloc was working on a coordinated response to Moscow's escalation.

Prince Andrew stripped of 'freedom of York' title after unanimous vote

 

 Prince Andrew has been stripped of his honorary 'freedom of York' title after a unanimous vote by York City Council. Councillors voted for the removal in an Extraordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 27.
It comes after Prince Andrew reached an out of court settlement – said to be £12m – with his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, in a civil sex claim filed in the US.
 Many councillors said the removal of his Honorary Freedom of the City of York was just a starting point for the changes that should be made.

PSG to 'sell Neymar for just £76m this summer' as they plan a squad revolution

 

Paris Saint-Germain football club of France is reportedly prepared to sell star player, Neymar this summer as part of a rebuild by taking a huge loss on the player they paid a world record fee for.
The Brazilian arrived at the Parc des Princes to huge fanfare in 2017 when PSG paid his Barcelona release clause of £198million to bring him to France in a world record move.
Neymar has scored 98 times in 141 games, but has failed to help PSG win the champions league since his signing.
Paris Saint-Germain have already won the Ligue 1 title following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Lens.

Central African Republic adopts bitcoin as legal currency

 


The Central African Republic has adopted bitcoin as legal tender, becoming the second country in the world to make the move after El Salvador.
 Lawmakers unanimously adopted a bill that made bitcoin legal tender alongside the CFA franc and legalised the use of cryptocurrencies, and President Faustin Archange Touadera signed the measure into law, the president's office said Wednesday.
The CAR "is the first country in Africa to adopt bitcoin as legal tender," his chief of staff Obed Namsio said in a statement.

James Bond and Rush Hour 2 actor Kenneth Tsang dies in Covid quarantine hotel

 

 Kenneth Tsang  86, has died in a Covid quarantine hotel. The actor, who starred in huge Hollywood films such James Bond flick Die Another Day (2002) and Rush Hour 2 (2001), went into mandatory quarantine at the Kowloon Hotel after returning from Singapore on Monday, April 25.
It's claimed Ministry of Health staff found him unconscious at the Hong Kong hotel after he failed to answer the door during daily checks, according to the South China Morning Post.
 A source told the publication that he was pronounced dead at the scene and that he previously tested negative for Covid on Tuesday, April 26.
 People have gone on Twitter to leave moving tributes for the actor.

A bride and her caterer have been arrested after allegedly lacing food on the wedding menu with weed.
 Bride Danya Shea Glenny Svoboda, 42, and wedding caterer Jocelyn Montrinice Bryant, 31, have now been charged with delivering marijuana, tampering with guests’ food and misdemeanour culpable negligence.
 The wedding, which was held at The Springs Clubhouse in Longwood, Florida, on February 19, had 50 guests in attendance.
However, guests went "crazy" when they unknowingly ate marijuana-infused chocolate-covered strawberries, pudding "shot" desserts and lasagne.

Elon Musk vows to delete fake accounts or 'die trying' if his $46.5 billion bid to take over Twitter succeeds

 

 Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has promised to  eliminate spam bots or fake robotic accounts from Twitter if his bid to buy Social media platform, Twitter succeeds so that only real humans can use the platform.
 Musk who is the world's richest man who is also CEO of Tesla and Space X last week offered to buy Twitter claiming he would restore freedom of expression on the micro blogging platform.
"If our twitter bid succeeds, we will defeat the spam bots or die trying," Musk tweeted Thursday night, April 21. He added, "And authenticate all real humans." The Tesla Inc CEO had previously expressed his deep concerns regarding crypto bots putting up scam posts on Twitter to dupe investors.

Bird flu: China detects first human case of H3N8 bird flu

 


China has confirmed the first known human case of the H3N8 strain of avian flu.
 According to China's National Health Commission, a four-year-old boy living in central Henan province tested positive for the strain after being hospitalised with a fever and other symptoms.
The boy's family raised chickens at home and lived in an area populated by wild ducks,  China's NHC said in a statement. The NHC said the boy's case was a "one-off cross-species transmission, and the risk of large-scale transmission is low".

13 of Dr. Larry Nassar's sexual abuse victims seek $130M in claims, accuse FBI of turning 'blind eye' to allegations

 

Thirteen sexual assault victims of disgraced former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar have filed claims against the FBI claiming negligence by the agency and demanding $130 million.
Nassar, the former longtime doctor for the USA Gymnastics team and Michigan State University, is serving a 60-year sentence in federal prison on child pornography charges.
He also was sentenced to a 40-to-175 year state prison sentence in Michigan after pleading guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct after the court found him guilty of abusing hundreds of girls for decades. In September 2021, Olympic gymnasts McKayla Maroney and Simone Biles in Senate testimony blasted the FBI and the Justice Department for how the agency mishandled abuse allegations and then made false statements regarding the botched investigation.

Former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki dies at 90

 


 Mwai Kibaki, Kenya's third president from 2003-2013, has died aged 90.
 Kibaki's death was announced by current Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
While announcing Kibaki's death, Kenyatta recalled his long public service, including being a member of parliament for five decades.
 "Kibaki was a quintessential patriot whose legacy of civic responsibility will continue to inspire generations of Kenyans long into our future," Kenyatta said in a televised address.
 Kenyatta did not state the cause of death but Kibaki has been ailing for some time, domestic media reported.
 Kibaki is credited with reviving Kenya's then ailing economy, but his tenure was marred by deadly violence that killed more than 1,200 Kenyans following his disputed re-election in December 2007.

Netflix considering including ads and reducing prices as it loses 200,000 subscribers for first time in 11 years


Online entertainment subscription service, Netflix has revealed it is now considering reducing its prices and adding advertisement to its platform, as the company recorded losses of 200,000 subscribers for the first time since 2011.
 After years of resisting advertisements on its streaming service, Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings said  on Tuesday April 19, that the company is "open" to offering lower-priced tiers with ads.
Hastings has always opposed to adding commercials or other promotions to the platform but says now that it "makes a lot of sense" to offer customers a cheaper option.

Veteran DJ Kay Slay dies after 4-month battle with Covid-19

 

 Hip-Hop icon, Keith Grayzon, better known as DJ Kay Slay, has succumbed to medical complications resulting from a lengthy battle with COVID-19.
 The 55-year-old American DJ passed away on Easter Sunday, April 17.
Rumors of Kay Slay’s passing began to circulate on Sunday evening, with well known music artist manager, Wack 100 reportedly confirming the news, along with veteran HipLast week, Wack gave an update on Kay Slay’s condition, writing that the DJ was "still fighting" in a post on Instagram.-Hop promoter Van Silk. Back in January,  Wack 100 revealed that DJ Kay Slay had been hospitalized due to COVID-19 since December 2021 and that he had been put on a ventilator.
Sadly, Kay Slay didn't survive.

Ex-Honduran President Hernandez, handcuffed, extradited to U.S. on drug charges

 

 
A disgraced former Honduran president was on Thursday April 21, extradited to the U.S. to face drug and arms charges.
 Juan Orlando Hernández, the once-powerful former president, was handcuffed as he boarded an airplane with agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to face legal proceedings in New York City.
He faces a three-count indictment charging drug importation and weapons offenses.
In court documents, U.S. prosecutors alleged Hernandez was involved in a "corrupt and violent drug-trafficking conspiracy to facilitate the importation of tons of cocaine into the United States."

Court awards man $450,000 after he was fired for being 'angry' that his bosses threw him a surprise party

 


 A man from Kentucky, USA who was fired for having a panic attack that his bosses saw as 'violent' after he was thrown a birthday party at work against his wishes has been awarded $450,000 by a jury.
 Kevin Berling asked an office manager at the Gravity Diagnostics lab in Covington, Kentucky not to throw him a party because of his anxiety disorder in August 2019.
When he found out that a party was planned for lunchtime, he spent the break in his car working on breathing techniques to quell his stress.
 According to NewYorkTimes, the next day, he had another panic attack in a meeting with two supervisors who talked to him about his 'somber behavior.'

 Russian leader Vladimir Putin could consider striking a NATO base in order to stop the transfer of arms to Ukraine, a former British security chief has warned.
 Lord Ricketts, the UK Government's first national security adviser, said that Putin is becoming 'increasingly desperate to choke off the flow of arms' to Ukraine.
Lord Ricketts even suggested that Putin could attack aircraft or convoys headed to the country from NATO. He fears the war is moving towards 'an angry stalemate, where Russia will hold on to quite a large part of the country' and Ukraine will not agree a settlement deal.

Man breaks world record by spending 720 hours (30 days) watching latest Spider-Man movie 292 times at cinema, 3 years after after viewing Avengers: Endgame 191 times

 

 A man from Florida has reclaimed his world record for the most cinema productions attended of the same film after he saw the latest Spider-Man film in theaters 292 times.
 Ramiro Alanis spent 720 hours which is equal to 30 whole days watching Spider-Man: No Way Home over the course of three months to set his record.
The record time spent on watching the movie cost him around $3,400 on tickets to do so. He had previously set the world record for most cinema productions attended of the same film in 2019 after watching Avengers: Endgame 191 times back in 2019.

Former FIFA president, Sepp Blatter and ex-UEFA chief Michel Platini to stand trial in June for corruption charges over a £1.4million payment

 

 Former FIFA President, Sepp Blatter and ex-UEFA President Michel Platini will go on trial in June to face Swiss corruption charges over a $2 million (£1.4m) payment that world football's governing body made to Platini, the court announced on Tuesday.
 Both Blatter and Platini have repeatedly denied wrongdoing in the past over the incident, for which Swiss prosecutors indicted them in November.
The case is about Platini's written request to FIFA in January 2011 to be paid a backdated additional salary for working as a presidential adviser in Blatter's first term, from 1998 to 2002.

Wimbledon ban Russian and Belarusian players from the Championships over the invasion of Ukraine'

 

 Russian and Belarusian tennis players will be banned from competing at Wimbledon this summer as the sporting world continues to punish athletes as a result of Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
Russia has already been banned from the upcoming World Cup and the Women's European Championship while Belarusian athletes have also been punished due to their allegiance to Putin's Russia.
Wimbledon's main committee has now joined them and taken a prompt decision to ban Russians and Belarusians from this year's Championships.

Wayne Rooney's Derby County relegated to League One from the Championship

 

 Wayne Rooney's Derby County side have been relegated from the Championship following their 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.
 The Rams had needed a positive result away at QPR to have any chance of preserving their Championship status, but Luke Amos' 88th-minute goal in the game sent them to League One from the Championship.
Derby County were handed a 12-point deduction early in the season after entering administration. On November 16, they were given a further nine-point deduction for breaching EFL accounting rules. That led to a 21-point deduction, a deficit that ultimately sees them relegated.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger 'turns down' Manchester United approach

 

 Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger has reportedly rejected an offer by rival club,  Manchester United.
According to reports, Rudiger, 29, is one of United’s defensive targets when the transfer window opens in June, as his contract at Stamford Bridge runs out at the end of the season.
The two parties are believed to have held discussions about a possible deal for Rudiger to join Old Trafford as Manchester United's Harry Maguire has struggled this season.
In February, Rudiger spoke of his happiness at Chelsea but indicated his wage demands must be met if he is to remain at the Blues.

26 women and children die as boat capsizes in Sokoto

 


 Twenty six persons have been confirmed dead following a boat mishap on Shagari river in Shagari local government area of Sokoto state.
 Chairman of Shagari Council area, Aliyu Dantani, who disclosed  the accident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday April 13, in Sokoto, said the incident occurred on Tuesday evening, April 12.
Dantani said of the 26 recovered corpses, 21 were women while five were children, adding that a search and rescue mission was ongoing.
 The council boss, however, said the actual number of passengers in the boat could not be immediately ascertained.

France seizes Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's £90m Riviera villa

 


 Roman Abramovich's luxury estate on the Caribbean island of St Barts and his £90m chateau are among the latest assets to be seized by the French authorities.
 The Chelsea owner is among several Russian oligarchs to be sanctioned by France. Several governments, including Boris Johnson's cabinet, have sanctioned Abramovich in recent weeks for allegedly having ties to Vladimir Putin, something which he denies.
France has seized more than £20billion worth of cash and property belonging to Russian oligarchs, as confirmed by the Economy and Finance Ministry in Paris on Wednesday April 13. Abramovich owns 12 of these properties, denying him the chance to sell or rent them. Governments are concerned oligarchs will use revenue generated by assets to fund the Russian war machine.

Floods kill more than 250 in South Africa

 


Devastating floods wreaked havoc in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban killing more than 250 people on Wednesday, April 13.
Local authorities say the rain that fell in one day (from Tuesday to Wednesday) was months worth of rain. Officials have called it "one of the worst weather storms in the history of our country" as mudslides trapped people under buildings, while rescue efforts are being hampered by poor visibility .
During rescue efforts, witnesses say  a 10-year-old girl was part of a family of four that was swept away on a flooded bridge.
Community volunteers waded into the muddy river, taking turns to hack away at the branches using machetes and removing debris and rubbish that had washed downstream, but if was too late as she died.

Man confesses to shoving his injured grandma into a freezer and leaving her to die

 


 A Georgia man has been arrested after confessing to shoving his injured grandmother into a freezer and leaving her there to die. Robert Keith Tincher III allegedly lived with the frozen corpse of 82-year-old Doris Cumming for months before Floyd County cops made the grisly discovery at their Armuchee home late Thursday April 14.
Police believe that the granny hurt herself after falling in December, but rather than seeking medical attention, Tincher allegedly dragged her through the home they shared.
  Fox 5 Atlanta reported that he “heard and saw numerous bones break”, and then wrapped her in plastic bags and stuffed her into the freezer alive.

Brooklyn subway shooting suspect Frank R. James arrested in New York (photos)

 


The suspect in New York City subway shooting on Tuesday April 12, has been arrested.
 Frank R. James, 62, is accused of shooting 10 people and leaving at least 19 others injured in a horror attack on a Brooklyn subway during Tuesday’s rush hour.
At 8:24am, the gunman donned a gas mask on a packed N train travelling to Manhattan from Sunset Park and opened a gas canister. He then opened fire inside the train and on the station platform as it pulled into 36 Street.
 A gun, magazines, gas canisters, and fireworks were recovered from the scene and the NYPD recovered a U-Haul van allegedly rented by Mr James.

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr pleads gulty to forcible touching of women, strikes plea deal

 

 American actor Cuba Gooding Jr. on Wednesday April 13, pleaded guilty to one count of forcible touching in a protracted criminal case accusing him of violating three different women at various Manhattan nightspots in 2018 and 2019.
 The single guilty plea came nearly three years after Gooding's arrest in the case that saw several delays as his lawyers sought to get the charges reduced or dismissed.
 Gooding also admitted to subjecting two other women to non-consensual physical contact in October 2018 and June 2019.

 Manchester City and Brazil midfielder Fernandinho has revealed he will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to his nine-year spell in England. Fernandinho, 36, has struggled for game time this campaign, and has now revealed his sights are set on a move to Brazil and he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Fernandinho has just three months left on his deal, after signing fresh terms for one more season last year. This term, he has played just 13 times in the top-flight.
And, speaking at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, April 12, he challenged the club to 'win everything' this season
Yes. Yes, I want to play,' the veteran added, when asked whether he will leave City in order to play more regularly.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been dropped as an ambassador for Save the Children after he allegedly 'assaulted' a 14-year-old Everton fan by smashing his phone out of his hand following Manchester United's 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park.
 Jake, who has autism, was filming the Manchester United players leaving the pitch at full-time when Ronaldo appeared to knock the phone out of a boy's hand as he headed towards the tunnel.
The fan has since been identified as Jake Harding, who has autism. Merseyside Police have confirmed they are looking into the incident and are seeking further information.

Update: 10 shot, 6 others injured in attack on Brooklyn Subway Station

 


At least 16 people were injured, 10 out of them by gunfire, in a Brooklyn subway station, New York on Tuesday April 12 during the morning rush, after a man released a canister of smoke and opened fire on an N train and fled.
 The D and N trains are popular lines, as they make express stops into Midtown Manhattan in New York. Police say the shooting set off panic and chaos aboard the train.
 "This individual is still on the loose, this person is dangerous," New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said during a news conference.

5 shot, unexploded devices found at NYC train station

 

 
Five people were shot Tuesday morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York, law enforcement sources said. Fire personnel responding to reports of smoke at the 36th Street station in the Sunset Park neighborhood found multiple people shot and undetonated devices, a New York City Fire Department spokesperson said. The fire department said 13 people were injured, but there were no details on what those injuries entailed.
According to multiple law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation, preliminary information indicated a suspect fled wearing a construction vest and a gas mask.

60 year old man in Germany caught getting 90 covid-19 shots to forge vaccination cards to sell

 

 A man in Germany has been arrested after getting himself vaccinated at least 90 times against COVID-19.
Accordingly to authorities on Sunday, April 3, the man was arrested in the German city of Magdeburg. His reason for taking the vaccinations was not for health, but to accumulate vaccine cards to sell.
According to German privacy laws, his name could not be released to the media , but police authorities say he reveived the dozens of shots at vaccination centers in the eastern state of Saxony for months before he was finally caught.

 The 14-year-old boy who Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly 'assaulted' and 'bruised' at Goodison Park has declined the Manchester United star's invitation to Old Trafford.
 Sarah Kelly, from Wirral, took her 14-year-old son Jake Harding to Goodison Park on Saturday for his first match. The pair sat in the Park End to watch Everton beat Manchester United 1-0.
Jake, who has autism, was filming the Manchester United players leaving the pitch at full-time when Ronaldo swiped a mobile phone out of his hand.
 Sarah told the Liverpool Echo that the phone belonged to Jake and claimed that the Portuguese striker 'assaulted' him, bruising his hand, by knocking the phone to the floor.

Boris Johnson to be fined by police over lockdown-breaking parties at UK government premises

 

 

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak have been told they will be fined by the Metropolitan Police over lockdown-breaking parties held on UK government premises, a Downing Street spokesperson told CNN on Tuesday.
The police said last month they would issue fines as part of their investigation into illegal events held in Downing Street and Whitehall, which took place while the rest of the country was living under strict pandemic lockdowns and sparked national outrage.

NFL star Dwayne Haskins, 24, dies after being hit by a car in Florida

 


 Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, and former Ohio State standout Dwayne Haskins, has been  killed after being struck by a car.
 Haskins, who was set to turn 25 next month, was training with his team in South Florida when the fatal accident occurred early Saturday morning, his agent, Cedric Saunders, confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin confirmed reports of Haskins' passing and issued his condolences to Haskins' loved ones.
 'I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins,' Tomlin said in a statement confirming his death. 'He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.'

 A team of medical experts in Nairobi,  Kenya, has designed an innovative device that helps ease menstrual pains.
 NTV Kenya said Wednesday, April 6, that the device, which is already in circulation at a moderate price has leads that are connected to some sticky pads called electrodes, which help deliver small electrical impulses to the painful area of a woman’s body and subsequently ease the pain.
One of the leading innovators of the device, who is also the chief executive and co-founder of Swift Wellness, Peter Arina, said watching his friend struggle with menstrual pain prompted him to devise a solution.

UK sanctions daughters of Russia's President Putin and Foreign minister, Lavrov, over Ukraine War

 


Britain on Friday April 8, announced sanctions on the daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
The Foreign Office said it was targeting the "lavish lifestyles of the Kremlin's inner circle" following sanctions on Putin's daughters Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova, and Lavrov's daughter Yekaterina Vinokurova.
The new sanctions follow similar actions by the United States in targeting the three women, who are now subject to UK travel bans and asset freezes.

Biological men should not compete in female sports events - Boris Johnson

 

 The prime minister of the UK, Boris Johnson has weighed into the row over transgender rights saying biological males should not be allowed to compete in female-only sports events.
The UK leader said that parents should have ‘involvement at the very least’ in decisions made by children to alter their gender as transgender rights groups continue to spread their valued around the Western world..
Johnson's comments come as the government faces a backlash for excluding transgender people from a ban on conversion therapy.

Twitter CEO: Elon Musk will not join Twitter board

 


 Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who recently bought a large stake in Twitter, has decided not to join the social media company's board. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted the news Sunday night.
"Elon's appointment to the board was to become officially effective 4/9, but Elon shared that same morning that he will no longer be joining the board," Agrawal said in the tweet. "I believe this is for the best. We have and will always value input from our shareholders whether they are on our Board or not. Elon is our biggest shareholder and we will remain open to his input."

Holland confirm Ronald Koeman as next manager with Louis Van gaal stepping down to fight his 'aggressive' prostate cancer

 


Holland have confirmed former Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman will take over as their national head coach once Louis van Gaal steps down from the role after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.   
 Koeman, who was sacked by Barcelona in October 2021 following a poor start to a season since the 1987-88 campaign, will return to international management on January 1, 2023.
Van Gaal thinks Koeman will be a 'good successor' due to his 'experience'.  While, Koeman says he is 'looking forward to the new collaboration'.     
 During an interview designed to promote a new documentary about his life, Van Gaal revealed that he was battling an 'aggressive' form of prostate cancer and said that he had already undergone treatment on 25 occasions.

The shirt Diego Maradona wore in the game against England when he scored the infamous "Hand of God" goal is expected to be sold for at least £4million at auction.  Maradona scored two of the most memorable goals in World Cup history to knock the Three Lions out at the quarter-final stage in the 1986 tournament in Mexico.
During the quarter-final, the late great former Argentina captain rose above Peter Shilton to punch his side into the lead at the Azteca Stadium and the officials failed to spot that he had handled the ball. At the time, the forward described the goal as being made "a little with the head of Maradona, and a little with the hand of God".

 Two key executives who were hired to launch former President Donald Trump’s social media startup Truth Social have resigned. Sources told Reuters that Josh Adams, the chief of technology, and Billy Boozer, Trump’s product development chief have both left the company. Their departure comes less than one year after joining the former President on his project.  This is the latest development at the nascent venture that has struggled to get off the ground.
The specific circumstances behind the executives’ resignations or whether they have been replaced or their duties reassigned couldn’t immediately be determined, according to the report.

Ed Sheeran wins 'Shape of You' copyright infringement case

 


 Ed Sheeran has won the High Court copyright infringement case in England over his 2017 single Shape of You. Songwriters Sami Chokri and Ross O’Donoghue had alleged that Sheeran’s 2017 hit single 'Shape of You' had infringed on particular lines and phrases from their 2015 track titled Oh Why.
In 2018, the 'Shape of You' writers launched legal proceedings requesting that the High Court declare they had not infringed on the copyright. While Chokri and O’Donoghue issued a counterclaim two months later.
 At the 11-day trial in London in March, Ed Sheeran denied borrowing ideas from other songwriters without acknowledgment.

DHL cargo jet splits in two after skidding off runaway in Costa Rica

 

 The fire department said the Boeing 757 had taken off from Juan Santamaria Airport just west of the capital but decided to return after detecting a failure in the hydraulic system.
Hector Chaves, director the Costa Rica Fire Department, said that upon landing the aircraft skidded, turned and broke in two, exposing its cargo.
“Units mobilised to remove the pilot and co-pilot,” Chaves said. “Then they applied foam to prevent a spill and now they are working on an earthen dike to avoid any fuel from reaching the drainage system.”
A spokesman for cargo carrier DHL said both pilots were unharmed but one was undergoing a medical check as a precaution.
