Aftermath of Charleston shooting: Walmat to stop the sale of items depicting the Confederate flag

The controversy over the Confederate flag was reignited again when photos of the Charleston shooter (21-year-old Dylann Roof), holding a gun and a Confederate flag went viral. Critics of the flag were quick to call on South Carolina to take down what is widely viewed as a symbol of racism.
Walmat has announced that they will remove all Confederate flag merchandise from its nearly 11,000 stores and its websites.
The South Carolina Governor has also called that the flag be removed from the State House grounds in Columbia.
