Over 50 bodies recovered from Indonesian airforce plane crash

According to an Indonesian Red Cross official, the death toll as a result of the military transport plane crash has risen to 53. The C-130 Hercules which took off from Jakarta on Tuesday with about 113 people on board, made two stops at Pekanbaru and Dumai before crashing in a residential area in Medan, Indonesia.

 Air force chief Air Marshall Agus Supriatna said the pilot told the control tower that the plane needed to turn back because of engine trouble. This would be the second time in 10 years that an airplane has crashed into a Medan neighborhood.
