Karachi, the most populous city in Pakistan which was struck by heatwave, has since seen people dropping dead with a death toll of over 600. On the streets are corpses covered in flies, bodies piled high and hospitals are heavily relying on volunteers and donors for ice, water and spare beds.
The picture above shows volunteers distributing ice to some of the affected residents.

The number of fatalities is expected to climb as hours-long power outages leaves fans and air conditions inoperable.
