3 year old dies in the hospital after shooting himself in the face

A three year old boy from Texas finally gave up the ghost in the hospital after shooting himself in the face with his grandfather's gun. He was left alone in a bedroom by his grandparents for his afternoon nap, where a loaded gun was lying on the nightstand. The grandparents said they heard a gunshot about 30  and minutes after leaving him. Sgt. Ben Beall, from the Harris County Sheriff's office said "when they went in to check on him, he had apparently located a .380 semiautomatic pistol that was in the bedroom and had apparently shot himself in the head".
Officials in the sheriff's office has stated that a grand jury will decide whether any charges will be filed in this case.
I personally don't understand why someone would leave a loaded gun lying around in the first place.....babysitting gone wrong!
