Chilean players celebrating their win (C)ESPN |
Chile finally won the Copa America cup for the first time in the country's history, after a 99 years drought. After a well contested game of 120 minutes, it took a well taken penalty shoot-out to defeat Argentina. It was Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez who hit the game winning penalty to give Chile a 4-1 advantage, after Gonzalo Higuain had a miss and his teammate Ever Banega's penalty was saved by Claudio Bravo. Lionel Messi was the only Argentine to convert his penalty.
Congratulations Chile!!!
hoot hoot for Alexis Sanchez :)
